A great tour with a great guide who described the history of the area before taking us on our tour. She was easy to communicate with and made our tour memorable
The tour guide struggled with the details of the history. The details took so long to explain that we were late in finishing tour and we had to rush at the end to complete on time. Tour guide was very nice just slow on the delivery of information.
Not only a wine experience but also a mini walking tour where we got to hear some of the interesting facts about Montepulciano. We met at the top and had two tastings; one at the top and one at the bottom. Was a little disappointed with this as we had to walk all the way back to the top to see things we had missed. (The ticket office to the shuttle bus was closed so that wasn’t an option for us)
I would rate this tour a five. Leon of the tourist office in.Pienza did a fabulous job explaining the history of the city. Each of the wine producers we visited we’re fabulous. The underground sellers are quite impressive.
The guide was friendly and knowledgeable but this is absolutely something you can just do yourself. Don’t waste your money. Choose the winery you’d like to visit, ask to visit the cellar and then get a tasting.
A delightful resort that stands out among the hills of Val d'Orcia. Surrounded by vineyards and full of medieval history. It is great fun to walk through the steep streets and stop in some shops for Shopping or for a Maremma snack washed down with good wine. It will always be a good tourist half whether you travel alone, as a couple or with your family.
Grazie!
My tour guide Ms Laura was very polite and informative. I learned some new things from her as well as her learning some things from me. It was a good experience
Very dissapointing and a waste of money! We did get a discount for the kids, but they should really be free as there was not much history or information given about the town. Our tour was to include 2 underground cellars. The first winery we went to did not seem happy that we were there and did not let us into the cellar as there was no one to look after the shop. Second winery was closed and we had to walk around killing time waiting for it to open. Cellar was not underground.
Laura was excellent. Very knowledgeable and a great pleasure to spend time with. We were very fortunate to have a private tour with her and we thoroughly enjoyed her expertise and her company.
Montepulciano was beautiful. Our tour guide Laura was excellent and gave us very good history and information about the city and surroundings The wine cellars were very cool and would recommend The rating would have been higher had the tasting experience been better. The first cellar tasting started out week then another larger group came I. And we were ignored. The second cellar was more interesting but the tasting was done standing up in the sales room.
