Itinerario
Le Gole dell'Alcantara sarà la prima tappa del tour. Si tratta di un luogo dove il processo erosivo di 8000 anni dello scorrimento del fiume sulla roccia basaltica che ha creato una profonda gola, costituendo delle piccole spiagge negli argini. Un luogo di particolare bellezza naturale. In questo luogo potrai passeggiare anche all'interno delle acque basse del fiume dentro la gola, potendo ammirare le pareti modellate a strapiombo. Se desideri non entrare nel fiume, poi ammirare da fuori la maestosità di queste strutture geologiche uniche.
Le Gurne dell'Alcantara sono delle piscine naturali formatesi attraverso l'erosione di alcune cascate nella roccia. Potrai ammirare la fauna e la flora rigogliosa, godendo del gorgoglio del fiume e delle cascate.
Castiglione di Sicilia, è un borgo medievale che domina la Valle dell'Alcantara. Qui faremo una breve passeggiata per ammirare la vista dall'alto nei pressi della rupe altissima su cui è edificato il castello di Lauria e la basilica di San Giacomo. A Castiglione faremo anche un piccolo break in una pasticceria tipica, dove si potranno assaggiare i famosi cannoli e le granite caserecce.
In questo vigneto, situato a mille metri di altitudine sull'Etna, si coltiva l'uvaggio Nerello Mascalese e si effettua la vinificazione. La degustazione prevede la presentazione di cinque calici distinti: tre vini bianchi e due rossi, accompagnati da un pranzo tipico. L'esperienza enogastronomica ha inizio al tavolo, guidata dalle spiegazioni del sommelier. Prima o dopo l'evento, sarà possibile passeggiare tra i vigneti e visitare la zona dedicata alla vinificazione.

Amazing private tour experience! The wine tasting is the draw. Though our favorite parts were seeing the countryside beforehand. The gorge and natural swimming pools were so cool to see. We would have never to known to go there if it wasn’t for this tour. Giancarlo was a fantastic tour guide! Highly recommend!

This is a really nice day trip! We were picked up at our accommodation even though it is not on the list. It was just our company so we got all the attention and could hear well. The host was great, nice and spoke good English. He was also very helpful, even took us to a big grocery store on the way home. The host also showed herbs, fruits and vegetables growing wild. The wine and charcuterie tray served at the vineyard was very good. We had a wonderful day.

We had good weather, but it would not have been quite as fun without it. We spent a good deal of time outside. The sites were gorgeous and unique, the food and wines were delicious. The winery is a quasi-family run operation with a great spread for lunch. Guides’ English was good and responded to questions. Highly recommended if you want more than climbing Etna.
I like the secret route, exploring and learning the plants and fruits. Friendly and nice introduction of the cities and cleared a lot of Italian myth for me.

My husband and I booked a very last minute tour whilst in resort, we wanted a winery tour/tasting afternoon out and found this option. We got way more than we bargained for and would highly recommend! Communication to confirm plans beforehand was great. We were picked up from our hotel on time and in a clean vehicle. I hadn’t realised but it was a private tour which made it a little more special. A few picturesque stops on the way to some really beautiful natural spots, very informative and friendly. A nice cannoli treat during on of the stops. We were offered the choice of routes to reach the more secluded areas, we opted to do the more adventurous routes but would recommend considering the alternative if health/fitness doesn’t allow. However, if you do choose the more active option, I would recommend trainers instead of flip flops. The last stop was at Patria Vini vineyard, we started with a welcome Prosecco, then on to a tour around the winery followed by a lovely lunch and wine tasting. We were in quite a big group so not that easy to hear at the back but you got to see everything well. For lunch we were put on a private table but big groups could sit together easily. Wine was explained with each course again in fantastic English. Just enough time at the end to have a wander in the shop and purchase some bottles to bring home. We were then driven back to the hotel. All in all I would say it was good value for money, an interesting unique day out, with a fantastic and personable guide.
