Scopriremo le radici della democrazia ceca e le storie di coloro che hanno sacrificato tutto per la libertà. Sentirai parlare di un eroe cecoslovacco, un avvocato e politico dedito all'uguaglianza, ai diritti delle donne e all'antifascismo, che ha affrontato la persecuzione nazista ed è stato poi giustiziato dal regime comunista. Esplora il sito della statua più grande del mondo di Joseph Stalin e scopri la tragica storia dietro la sua costruzione e distruzione. Infine, viaggia fino alla Praga del 1942, dove scoprirai l'audace assassinio di un ufficiale delle SS di alto rango, orchestratore dell'Olocausto, e gli eroici aviatori che hanno portato a termine questa missione mortale. Ci incontriamo al Palladium e prendiamo un tram fino alla nostra prima fermata.
Il nostro viaggio inizia con un delizioso pranzo in un affascinante ristorante tradizionale ceco, pieno di carattere.
Facciamo un breve tragitto in tram fino alla più bella birreria all'aperto di Praga
Giungiamo ad un'incantevole birreria locale. Si trova accanto ai campi da tennis dove Martina Navrátilová era allenata da suo padre all'inizio degli anni '70. Ci godiamo un drink e una storia affascinante qui.
Camminiamo per qualche minuto verso il nostro prossimo luogo di interesse.
Visitiamo il sito dell'ex statua di Joseph Stalin. Qui ascolterai la tragica storia del suo scultore. Fu l'architetto capo della sua costruzione nel 1949.
Poi prendiamo un tram per un accogliente ristorante.
Nel ristorante locale potrai goderti un altro drink mentre ascolti l'avvincente storia finale dell'assassinio di Reinhard Heydrich.
Procediamo verso le catacombe dove, nel 1942, ebbe luogo un drammatico scontro a fuoco tra 800 soldati delle SS e i coraggiosi aviatori che si nascondevano all'interno della chiesa.
La nostra ultima fermata è una breve passeggiata fino al lungomare del fiume Moldava, Naplavka. Questo affascinante percorso lungo il fiume offre un luogo perfetto per godersi l'atmosfera locale. La tua guida ti saluterà qui, permettendoti di rilassarti nell'atmosfera di questo posto meraviglioso.

Amazing tour of the back streets of Prague and related to WW2 and other great tales of Pragues heroes and villans. The guide Daragh is fab and chats away with great enthusiasm and happy to answer questions. Me and my wife loved this afternoon event. We can’t say enough good things about our tour with Daragh. We had taken a walking city tour the day before and considered canceling wondering if it would be repetitive. We are so glad we chose to go on this tour as it was a trip highlight for us! Daragh is an exceptional guide, vibrant, informed, and entertaining. We could easily discuss any number of topics and ask questions and Daragh handled it all seamlessly. We truly felt as if we were just walking through town with a great friend. We cannot recommend this tour and your guide enough. When we return to Prague, booking with Daragh would be a top priority for us!

What a wonderful afternoon spent seeing sights in Prague we would never have seen on our own. Our guide Daragh showed us the non touristy route and entertained us with amazing stories from Prague past resistance and WWII years. We stopped for a great meal away from the old center, stopped for an occasional beverage and enjoyed this amazing city with a small group of people that became friends by the end of our tour! This tour was worth every penny and minute! Highly recommend.

There were 8 of us on this one-on-one tour with Daragh through the Totalitarian Regime and he even included 2 extra stops in 2 beautiful churches. LOVED every minute of the tour, the places we visited with the history behind them, the trams we rode, both old and new, the beers we drank and the authentic lunch we enjoyed. This was an AMAZING tour, thoughtfully created and flawlessly executed. Darragh and his wife own this small tour company and I would take every tour they offer. The stories Darragh offered on this tour gave me a flavor of the strength and resilience of the Czech people. I saw parts of Prague I didn’t expect to see because the tour includes a ticket for the Prague transport system (and an explanation of how to use it). Darragh is a trained chef so I learned about Czech cuisine and where and what to eat and drink. And the tour itself was a start and stop affair where we walked a little, had a beer and talked a little, then repeated the cycle in a different part of the city. 10/10. I cannot give it a high enough recommendation. Do this!

This was a charming walking tour that my partner and I very much enjoyed. While billed as a WW2 tour, the story's that are focussed on cover history beyond just WW2 and includes items relating to the Soviet era following the conclusion of WW2 as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the stories that he was telling us and the places that we were visiting and was very relaxed and personable, allowing you to feel very at ease having a conversation with him. The tour includes a meal and the restaurant/pub that we ate at was lovely, it had a nice atmosphere and the food on offer was very tasty. We stopped for a drink at each subsequent location and our guide introduced us to the locally popular version of cola - kofola, which was a nice bonus at our 2nd stop. The tour is very unhurried, so there is plenty of time to ask questions and take in the sights around you and the walking is sedate and easy, so is fairly accessible for people. Personally, I would recommend taking this tour early in your stay in Prague as our guide was able to provide us with lots of suggestions on places to eat or visit during our stay, and was great at introducing us to the tram system in Prague, so making this an early activity on your trip means that you get a good amount of local information that you can use for the rest of your stay.
