Il parco centrale circondato da antiche case vittoriane, la cattedrale di San Felipe con la sua splendida architettura. La Cattedrale del Porto fu fondata nel 1502, ma a causa di un incendio causato dai restauratori nel 1863 fu completamente distrutta. Solo nel 1956 è stato completamente restaurato, anche se l'ultimo intervento risale al 2008. La cattedrale ha un grande valore religioso per i dominicani ed è uno dei punti di pellegrinaggio più importanti della Repubblica Dominicana.
La sua storia risale al 1898, quando Isidoro Rainieri e Bianca Franceschini, originari dell'Italia, arrivarono a Puerto Plata e quando si resero conto della necessità di un hotel per i viaggiatori, decisero di fondare l'Hospedaje del Comercio, che in seguito ribattezzarono Hotel Europa.
Conosciuto per i suoi ombrelli colorati che permettono di scattare bellissime fotografie, dispone di 178 ombrelli.
In questo luogo potrete scoprire tutto sulla storia e sugli usi delle pietre nazionali della Repubblica Dominicana, utilizzate soprattutto per la creazione di gioielli e souvenir. Si tratta di pietre semipreziose che, tra gli altri benefici, possiedono anche proprietà medicinali.
Qui potrete conoscere la storia del rum e assaggiare diversi tipi di rum.
In questo splendido parco situato nel cuore della zona coloniale di Puerto Plata, potremo osservare e conoscere la storia dell'indipendenza dominicana, ammirando le statue dei padri fondatori, il gazebo vittoriano e i dintorni circondati da colorati edifici coloniali.

In questa fabbrica di sigari vivrete un'esperienza indimenticabile, durante la quale imparerete tutto sulla storia del tabacco, su come vengono realizzati i sigari, sui diversi tipi di sigari dominicani e potrete degustare il sigaro che preferite.
Il lungomare è una delle zone ricreative di Puerto Plata, dove potrete ammirare splendidi murales che decorano gli edifici, graziosi bar e ristoranti locali, le meravigliose acque dell'Oceano Atlantico che bagnano le nostre spiagge, la statua di Nettuno, re dei mari, e l'insegna di Puerto Plata.
Qui visiteremo i dintorni di questa maestosa fortezza, costruita tra il 1565 e il 1577. Fu edificata dagli spagnoli per proteggere la città dai pirati e dai corsari che sbarcavano sulle coste di Puerto Plata. Servì anche da prigione ed è una delle principali aree ricreative della città, grazie all'ampio spazio circostante adibito a parco. Vi è anche un anfiteatro dove si svolgono diverse attività durante tutto l'anno. È un posto meraviglioso per scattare foto e girare video.

Amazing tour! Beautiful sites!
We were vacationing in Puerto Plata and had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Diomi from Diomi Travels. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions throughout the tour. He also recommended one of the best places to try sancocho, and we all enjoyed it together, which made the experience even more special. One moment that really stood out was when we ran out of cash while shopping for souvenirs at local shops. Without us even asking, Diomi paid out of his own pocket, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Overall, we highly recommend his services. Definitely reach out to him if you want a great tour experience in Puerto Plata. P.S. He also takes amazing pictures! We barely had to take out our phones, and he sent all the photos to us right after the tour.

Diomi provides us with a great personalized tour of Puerto Plata, making us feel at home. Well we had an opportunity to visit places that included purchasing local goods, we also got to see a little bit of real life, even getting to shop at the local grocery store and eating like a local. He is an excellent tour guide, his English is perfect, and I prefer to spend my money on a local guide than someone from the cruise ship booked tour. Five stars, I do recommend, will use again.

Had a city tour Diomi. Probably one of the best tours we’ve done. Very attentive and informative of the area. The places we went to were beautiful. Some included Umbrella Street, Puerto Plata, Jesus statue, Rum Factory, Cigar factory, countryside, pink street, etc. Very nice tour if it’s your first time here to see everything. Very caring to help watch your step (as I am recovering from a broken hip). Great for all ages. Highly recommended and definitely will go on different tours with the company.
