Fabio showed us Fortress in a wonderful way. He told us his story, made us understand his current economic situation, recommended places, it was a very nurtured experience. We were disappointed in what we had known and Fabio showed us the city with different eyes.
Welcome, thank you to Lili for all her explanations and her welcome. This city tour was important for us because she gave us good advice.
I was in Fortaleza in late August, early September 2022. 1st stay near the statue of Iracema. I didn't like it very much, walking along the shore towards downtown. There is deterioration of houses and buildings. I found it dirty. The 2nd time I was in Fortaleza (after returning from jericoacoara and broken canoe that are worth visiting) I stayed on the beach of Meireles, a kilometer ahead of where I stayed previously. Orla well-kept, organized kiosks, another "Mood", more pleasant. Worth the walk.
The city tour we did by taxi as we were much more aware and walked where we asked. We found the center to be very poor. We found the Cathedral very nice and large, with many stained glass windows very well preserved, to the point that inside the Cathedral there was no light on and it was very clear. Good experience.
Fortaleza post pandemic is sad with many hotels closed with tapums. The edge of Iracema is afraid to walk.

Three hours may not seem like much to visit a city, but you will have time to do the main attractions of Fortaleza, which should make you want some. Don't hesitate to come back to the beach once the tour is over, and/or go to the market to buy something that will have struck you in the eye (and don't hesitate to negotiate a little)!
I'm from Fortaleza. I've lived out for 13 years. I returned because I thought I was going back to the best city in Brazil, in my opinion. It turns out that I find Fortaleza a city abandoned by the public authorities and the locals . The city is terribly dirty, rough streets, people camping in the bedrooms, plus a lot of garbage thrown in the bedrooms. In the street I live, there is a place in the open sky where people throw garbage, there are no containers or garbage cans in the neighborhoods, the garbage collection is rwalized three times a week. Look, people, I live in Varjota, on Delmiro gouveia street, an expensive rental street, street of colleges like the Farias Brito. I am very disappointed with Fortaleza. Dirty and abandoned cage!

The theater is beautiful, the visit is guided, the square in front has to be revitalized to combine with the theater. Unforgettable visit.

While strolling around the city, you can find beautiful places to photograph, I especially recommend the Dragon of the Sea
Well, I want to start on the good side, so let's go. The people are very receptive and kind , struggle to please ( at least most ) , the sights are pretty and nice , even worth the visit . Having these as a positive point , I now want to point out the bad side , and I start by the appearance of the city in general , that outside of the sights is simply , and has no other word to use , horrible ... the city is very dirty , with homes and buildings poorly cared for , leaking sewage , smell of many horrible places . And if you want to drive around the city, be careful, it seems that no one there has CNH, now if you have, you can't explain how they managed, because they drive very badly, they do barbarisms in the traffic, they are poorly educated when they drive, and they cause a lot of stress for those who are not used to it. Another annoying thing is that everybody wants to sell you something all the time , and not just try , but they end up chasing you around the city , including walkers , tour guides , etc ... you're gonna miss a lot of the trip by saying : - No thanks . Etc. Vcs have no idea how boring they are , because even while they are eating , they come to bother and insist on buying all kinds of shit . In addition , a good part of you get to exploit you , if you don 't know where to consume , you will surely lose a lot of money , because you find typical dishes for example at 10,00 in one place , while in another you are charged the absurd of 60,00 for the same thing . Take care of the guides , see for example in Jericoacoara , that a guide charged us 70,00 just to show us how to get to the paradise lagoon , and the argument is that they are sandy roads , that if you don't know how to walk , or you will get lost or get stuck in the car , and look that this amount was charged for a stretch that guided us for 10 minutes . After all , the tourist sites are good , but overall there are many better places to visit .
