Itinerario
Prelievo dall'hotel o dal punto di partenza, quindi inizia il tuo viaggio verso Doi Tung con un viaggio panoramico lungo le montagne.
Doi Tung con un percorso panoramico lungo le montagne. Tra l'aria di montagna, goditi una straordinaria vista panoramica della Tailandia e del Myanmar.
Continua il tuo viaggio con una visita a un villaggio di tribù di colline, un tempo luogo di coltivazione dell'oppio.
Successivamente, visita il giardino Mae Fah Luang e goditi lo splendido, elegante e ben curato giardino di fiori colorati
Continua il tuo viaggio alla Villa Reale, l'antica dimora di Srinagarindra, la Principessa Madre. Questa elegante villa è costruita in legno di pino riciclato e alberi di teak scartati.
Completa il tuo viaggio più in alto sulla montagna con una visita al Wat Phra That Doi Tung. Costruito nell'anno 911 d.C., questo tempio fu eretto dalla clavicola sinistra del Buddha ed è considerato il santuario più antico e santo della regione.
Dopodiché andremo al Triangolo d'oro (Questa è la frontiera tra Laos, Myanmar e Thailandia ed è separata dai fiumi del Mekong).
Ci sono magnifiche viste sul fiume Mae Khong sul triangolo fisico creato da Birmania, Laos e Thailandia alla confluenza del fiume Ruak e del Mekong. Pagando una piccola tassa (devi pagare 300 THB extra), puoi anche goderti il giro in barca per vedere lo splendore del possente fiume Mae Khong. Quindi pranzeremo a buffet.
Dopo pranzo visita Mae Sai si trova al confine tra Thailandia e Myanmar. Questa città di confine ha un grande mercato per lo shopping.
Alla fine di questo programma visiteremo l'antica città di Chiang Saen, una città abbandonata da oltre 100 anni e recentemente rianimata. This tour was expensive but very rewarding. It takes you to the Royal Villa and beautiful gardens at Doi Tung, downtown Mae Sai including the border crossing, the ruins of an ancient temple at Chiang Saen, and the Golden Triangle. Very comfortable vehicle, leisurely pace, and driver with good English and reasonable knowledge of geography.
The highlight of this wonderful tour was our guide, Bank. He was informative, attentive and funny. The sights were amazing and an opportunity to get away from the crowds and hustle of the cities. We got to see the country side around Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle.
Our tour was with Bank..Extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand. Had information on sites we visited also on royal family, current government structure , economy, former opium trade and business, healthcare system, and alot of good knowledge. All the sites and where we went very interesting. Household of Queen Mother was wonderful and so was what she did for her country. Ask for Bank!
If you have a whole free day to spare in Chiang rai I would absolutely do this tour I had the best day ever!!! I have been in Thailand many times and done many tours but this was my favourite! Gap my tour guide was the best!! He speaks great English and has so much knowledge to share. I learnt so much..

Best experience for us was the lunch cruise at the golden triangle. Suzy was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Flexible when she realized we had already toured the White Temple and instead toured tea plantation. Overall, we would recommend this experience. Thanks again for a great day!
With tourism globally impacted by to COVIDvirus, our minibus tour was in a comfortable private car with just us 2 and the driver/guide. Over 8 hours, leaving from Chiang Rai, we covered all that was listed in the itinerary, albeit not necessarily in the same order as advertised. There were many highlights, including the beautifully maintained Mae Fah Leung Garden and Royal Villa at Doi Tung, the delicious Thai smorgasbord at a roadside stop, people watching at the Thai/Myanmar border crossing at Mae Sae, standing at the confluence of the Ruok and Mekong Rivers, looking simultaneously from Thailand to Laos and Myanmar, some impressive ancient Wat and the Opium Museum - well presented and informative. On the downside, smoke from Myanmar impeded what should have been awesome mountain vistas, and our guide/driver provided a couple of heart- stopping moments by crossing to the wrong side of the road on blind downhill corners. Fortunately traffic was light. We live to tell the tale!
