Il PCF 816 è un promemoria tangibile del servizio e della dedizione di tanti marinai Swift Boat e offre ai visitatori l'opportunità di capire meglio cosa hanno sacrificato. La Swift Boat Sailors Association ha portato la Swift Boat PCF 816 al Museo Marittimo di San Diego per essere restaurata e utilizzata nella baia di San Diego. I visitatori del museo ora possono sperimentare il suono e la vibrazione pulsante di due motori diesel V12 che erogano 980 cavalli per corse ad alta velocità attraverso la baia mentre i marinai e i docenti in pensione Swift Boat parlano di com'era essere un membro dell'equipaggio in Vietnam, servendo come quartiermastro, Gunner's Mate, Engineman, Radarman, Mate o Skipper di Bosun. Couldn’t hear the guide. Due to the noise of the boat there should be some type of headset to hear the history and facts presented on the tour. Otherwise it was an expensive boat ride.

The San Diego Maritime Museum conducts a tour around the San Diego Harbor listening to historical commentary on the Vietnam War river patrol boat. The shallow draft allows you to approach relatively close compared to a large pleasure boat, and on the sea surface where there are no other ships or obstacles around, you can increase the speed to 25 knots and experience the combat speed of bygone days. I wanted to get on the day before I left, but it was full and I wanted to give up, and the museum staff said, "I'll leave your stuff here."

We were going to catch a ferry as a way of seeing the bay, but are so glad that we went on the Swift Boat tour instead. We saw an awesome array of US Naval Boats- but best of all was the narration from the Veteran Swift Boat guides. Incredibly informative. A wonderful 2 hours on the water.

We went for a "few hours" and ended up spending all day! These ships were incredibly well preserved. It was neat to be able to see them all up close. We booked the harbor cruise with our ticket, and enjoyed that, as well.

What a wonderful tour! Steve gave our group an interesting class on naval maritime history as well as a tour of the engine room. Kiki gave our group a wonderful tour San Diego on our swift boat ride. This was the most amazing thing we did on our fantastic trip. Great value, totally run by volunteers who are passionate about their job and the US Navy. You not only get a history tour, but a spectacular harbour cruise with a little speed boat riding thrown in. Honesty, don't miss it :)
