Costruito in mattoni di fango essiccati al sole, i primi lavori di restauro sono stati fatti sul forte nel 1985, seguiti da un importante progetto di riabilitazione da parte del Dipartimento della Cultura e del Turismo - Abu Dhabi tra il 2007 e il 2008. Circondato da un parco lussureggiante, l'incantevole forte ha ricevuto il prestigioso premio Terra per il design interno e il layout nel 2016. Faisal was an excellent guide for our day trip to Al Ain. Very friendly and reached out to confirm all our details the day before. He was on time and gave us lots of history and facts. We thoroughly appreciated our time with him and know he will take care of you when you book a tour with him as your guide.
The journey is long, the oasis is actually a large city with a park including the original oasis, 2 or 3 adobe buildings, you have to leave early in the morning to see the camel races, the mountain offers a view of the surroundings drowned in the mist. We were disappointed with the visit. Furthermore, the tour operator offered us the option to make the tour private for the modest sum of €15, but since there were only two of us, we were not entitled to lunch! Jackpot for the tour operator.

Beautiful green farm, very large, takes about 30 to 45 minutes by walk, free entry, buggy and scooters available at extra cost. Several plantations can be seen, dates, mango, orange, banana, various flowers and plants, etc. It is next to Al Ain Museum and Sultan Fort. Free car parking and wash rooms, cafe are located outside.

Our driver spoke very poor English and therefore did not explain much of anything. Pointing out local banks was not what we went on this tour for. His driving was horrible and at one point while descending a steep and winding mountain road we had to ask him to stop using his phone. To which his response was “it was a busy time of day receiving tomorrow’s dispatch “. Even after this he continued to use his phone for the next two hours back to Abu Dhabi. There is lots to see on this tour. It would just have been nice to know what we were seeing.

We had Al Jahili Fort, Al Ain Oasis, Sheik Zayed Palace Museum closed unfortunately that day, but lunch at Ayla Bawadi Hotel was very good. Then we went to Mubazzarah Grenn Park and Jebel Hafeet Moutain. You absolutely must have done this tour, our driver Rahi had everything organized and everything under control.
