Jabal Hafeet è una montagna nella regione di Tawam, al confine con gli Emirati Arabi Uniti e l'Oman, che può essere considerato un outlier delle montagne di Al Hajar in Arabia Orientale. Dall’apertura delle sue porte nel 2008, il Forte di Al Jahili – situato a circa un’ora e mezza da Abu Dhabi nella lussureggiante città giardino di Al Ain – è stato un punto focale delle attività associate alla filosofia, alla cultura e al patrimonio di Abu Dhabi. Al Jahili è uno dei più grandi forti degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, costruito nel 1890 su ordine dello sceicco Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, noto anche come Zayed il Primo, come casa dei membri della famiglia regnante Al Nahyan. Costruito in mattoni di fango essiccati al sole, i primi lavori di restauro sono stati fatti sul forte nel 1985, seguiti da un importante progetto di riabilitazione da parte del Dipartimento della Cultura e del Turismo - Abu Dhabi tra il 2007 e il 2008. Circondato da un parco lussureggiante, l'incantevole forte ha ricevuto il prestigioso premio Terra per il design interno e il layout nel 2016. Trasformato in un centro culturale e attrazione turistica, ospita oggi una galleria temporanea e una mostra permanente dedicata a Sir Wilfred Thesiger.

Beautiful green farm, very large, takes about 30 to 45 minutes by walk, free entry, buggy and scooters available at extra cost. Several plantations can be seen, dates, mango, orange, banana, various flowers and plants, etc. It is next to Al Ain Museum and Sultan Fort. Free car parking and wash rooms, cafe are located outside.

We really enjoyed our tour with Favaz. He was very knowledgable and extremely professional. His company provided us this tour within an hour notice after another company (RAH) cancelled our prepaid, previously scheduled tour while we were waiting in the lobby to be picked up for the tour on the day. Our driver spoke very poor English and therefore did not explain much of anything. Pointing out local banks was not what we went on this tour for. His driving was horrible and at one point while descending a steep and winding mountain road we had to ask him to stop using his phone. To which his response was “it was a busy time of day receiving tomorrow’s dispatch “. Even after this he continued to use his phone for the next two hours back to Abu Dhabi. There is lots to see on this tour. It would just have been nice to know what we were seeing.

We had Al Jahili Fort, Al Ain Oasis, Sheik Zayed Palace Museum closed unfortunately that day, but lunch at Ayla Bawadi Hotel was very good. Then we went to Mubazzarah Grenn Park and Jebel Hafeet Moutain. You absolutely must have done this tour, our driver Rahi had everything organized and everything under control.
