This is a great option it you want to do several different things on the island. We did not do our homework in advance and were relying on the guide for more direction. She was very pleasant and answered questions.
Daniel is the best. We’ve been on four tours with him and will use him again. Always a great time. He always has good suggestions and he’s fun to be with.
Daniel was a great tour guide! We were able to go to AJ’s animal encounters, the mangrove tunnels on a boat tour, and the iguana farm- and all in the pouring rain (it didn’t cramp our style one bit). Daniel was very accommodating and let us have as much time as we wanted at each stop. He took us all around the island. I was a first timer to Roatán and went with my parent who had gone with Daniel before. Here’s the scoop: we were on a cruise ship and docked at the port. From there we walked through the port to the taxis. They are necessary. The taxis take you up a steep hill. From there, a large crowd of people are lining the street with signs and posters of the tours and other providers to be picked up. They’re not allowed into the port for pick ups, so they meet you up that hill. We got out of the taxi (cost like $5 or so) and Daniel was there with a sign. We got into his car and off we went! We went to an animal encounter (remember these are very different than in the states), an iguana farm, and a mangrove tour. The mangrove tunnel tour was on a boat. We stepped over the side, into the boat and the captain took us out into the canals. It was very cool. Once we did our stops, Daniel dropped us off at the cruise terminal (they can go in to drop off). Make sure to ask for Daniel. He’s super nice, easy to talk to, super flexible, and a great guy that really knows the island.
Shauna our tour guide was amazing, kind, informative, fun and helpful. She brought us to shops, nature sites and local zoo.
Wilson was a perfect tour guide and took us around in a minivan to everywhere we asked plus made great recommendations. Highly recommend!
We did the Eco-hike offered through the cruise. This was such a great way to learn about the island. Eric was a great tour guide- both informative and funny. He kept us safe through the hike and made sure everyone had fun too. Highly recommend this excursion
