A truly beautiful experience; being alone on this island is fascinating. Alessandro is polite and well-mannered, and he gives you details that you would hardly know if you weren't from there. Bring water and food with you and, if possible, avoid the very hot hours because, in my opinion, it is a bit too much to bear. The time is useful for visiting well; remember that there are no maps, it is impossible to have them in this part of the island, so plan accordingly.
Alessandro was wonderful! He was communicative and super helpful! We enjoyed our tour and our experience with Alessandro was the best part of our trip! Highly recommend!!

I was half convinced that this would turn out to be a scam, because everything I read said that Poveglia was closed. But Alessandro picked us up at the meeting point and took us in his boat to Poveglia, pointing out sights along the way. Then we had an hour and 15 minutes to explore on our own. Pulling up to the island, the atmosphere was oppressive, and the island was silent and deserted. We saw the hospital, housing, the prison, and the asylum. Then we headed back to the boat and Alessandro took some great photos of us with the island and then with Venice in the background. One of the best experiences we’ve ever done, even my teenaged daughter was impressed and didn’t complain once :) Just be aware of you have a spider phobia - I probably walked thru 50 webs, but the spiders were small!

Alessandro was a great host and very communicative. On the way to Poveglia he gave us an overview of the other islands we saw. Our free time was amazing - it is such a quiet, surreal place. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to see Poveglia!

Amazing couple of hours in Venice! Speeding around the Lagoon in the sunshine and Alesandro was so passionate about the history. Showed us some places off the tourist trail.
