La Moschea della Divinità, costruita nel 1997, è una moschea situata a Ouakam, in Senegal. È una struttura con due minareti. La moschea offre una vista sull'Oceano Atlantico, poiché la moschea si trova vicino alla riva, sulla Corniche-Ouest.
Il mercato di Sandaga è stato costruito nel 1935. La sua architettura ricorda lo stile arabo sudanese di Timbuctù in Mali. La sua decorazione è una miscela di stili arabo e africano con arabeschi e disegni geometrici.
Il Palazzo della Repubblica, residenza del Presidente della Repubblica, è un maniero storico situato nel quartiere Plateau di Dakar, capitale del Senegal. Costruito nel 1902, il Palazzo era la residenza ufficiale del Governatore Generale dell'Africa occidentale francese.
Il mercato di Kermel è un bellissimo edificio del 1860 - una bella sala rotonda in ferro battuto e mattoni di ispirazione araba - devastata da un incendio nel 1994 e ricostruita in modo identico nel 1997, classificata come monumento storico. Il grande orologio all'ingresso del mercato suonava la campana di chiusura a mezzogiorno in punto. Al mercato di Kermel si possono trovare tutti i prodotti alimentari ed è frequentato da occidentali alla ricerca dei migliori prodotti della città sin dalla sua creazione
L'isola di Gorée si trova al largo della costa del Senegal, di fronte a Dakar. Dal XV al XIX secolo fu il più grande centro di tratta degli schiavi della costa africana. Governata in successione da portoghesi, olandesi, inglesi e francesi, la sua architettura è caratterizzata dal contrasto tra i cupi quartieri degli schiavi e le eleganti case dei mercanti di schiavi. Oggi continua a servire come promemoria dello sfruttamento umano e come santuario per la riconciliazione.

Interesting trip to Goree island coupled with a brief city tour. Our guide Malang was very helpful and informative. He did a great job with the logistics and setting us up with a local guide on Goree island. He has some insightful thoughts on what it is like / what is happening Senegal today.
Overpriced for what is it. Although the guide was interesting, this could very easily be planned independently
My partner and I had a very enjoyable and exciting experience. Our hosts, Lamine and Momodou were awesome - top marks for their service. We would definitely highly recommend them to anyone wishing to tour Dakar, visit Goreé. It is good value for money.
The history of Goree Island is really impressive, but it is very interesting. It's worth a visit. The visit I made to Dakar was a panoramic tour with a stop at the African Renaissance Monument, a giant statue!
I can't recommend this tour company. They booked this tour even though the date was a bank holiday and nothing would be opened- no museums, no monuments. The easiest thing would be to rebook for another day but the guides showed up and didn't tell me the situation of it being a bank holiday until we had left my hotel- too late to reschedule. The guide acknowledged he should had said something before we left but opted not to. This company also left me stranded for another tour without notice. They never explained what happened. I wasted time and money. This was a special dream trip that was ruined.
Our guide Malang provided us with an excellent day. Regulations on our ship caused us a little delay, so we missed the first ferry to Goree Island. No worry, as Malang had us get our tickets stamped for the next ferry and showed us some Dakar sites instead of just waiting at the pier. Everywhere we went, people knew Malang. Highly recommend this tour!
Going to Goree Island on the Ferry. Visiting the sites there. And watching how the Sand painting is done by the artist!

On my way back to Sweden, I must confess that my first visit to Africa was a real delight thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the trip organizers. I really appreciated how they managed the visit from beginging to end keeping all their promises in terms of quality of service, provision of appropriate information, responses to my queries and anticipation of my needs. I will see to it to spread the word around me because many trip organizers usually present to potential visitors attractive services but often fail to fuifil their promises. Goree Island and the Monument of African Renaissance offered me the opportunity to open pages of the continent's sad history and to hold out a hope for a rising Africa despite the challenges that the countries are facing.
