Itinerario
Situato a nord di Portimão, già nella contea di Silves. È una produzione vinicola esclusiva, quella situata più a nord della regione, proprio all'inizio dei Monti Monchique. Di proprietà di una coppia portoghese-francese che si è incontrata a Bordeaux, dove è nato e cresciuto circondato dall'influenza del vino. Si sono trasferiti nella regione all'inizio del secolo per iniziare questo progetto da zero. Alle pendici del fiume Odelouca Vlley, hanno piantato il loro vigneto e costruito la loro piccola ma ben attrezzata cantina, che ospita anche una sala di degustazione, una botte e un laboratorio.
Situato nella zona di confine nord di Portimão e Alvor. Con la grande montagna di Monchique, che domina la vista quando siamo ai vigneti, questa grande proprietà ha anche aree di coltivazione di sughere, campi di grano e aranci. In famiglia dal 1865 e produttori di uva da molto tempo, questa fattoria ha costruito la sua moderna azienda vinicola nel 1999 ed è stata la prima a produrre vini a denominazione di origine certificata in Algarve. Nella spianata, alla bottega o alle botti di rovere è visibile la tradizione di questa tenuta di famiglia.

Despite a cloudy day, this wine tour was a great all day experience! We chose the lunch inclusion over the Silves city tour and happy we did! The wine and food we got to experience was excellent (and stories behind them). We visted the town of Silves on a different day. The two wineries we visited were different - each delivering their own twist on taste and quality. We really enjoyed the reds at Quinta do Frances, and in particular the Touriga Nacional. A full bodied red that is unique. The syrah was excellent as well. Great views from their patio as well. The second winery was the Convento do Paraiso which had beautiful whites and roses - in a beautiful old mill by the water (former convent). We were impressed by our guide Fabio (who owns the business) and the sharing of local information, history and family traditions. He was able to share many of the food creations and/or items we had at the lunch - the pan fried black pork was outstanding! The goat cheeses are fantastic as well. We went on this tour with another couple and a family member. We are experienced wine enthusiasts and the other three were "new" to the wine making area. Despite two signifcantly different backgrounds, Fabio did a great job making it all work (more in depth at time and providing a great overview for all to enjoy).

A fabulous way to see the beautiful hillsides of Alentejo, while learning about the local history, wineries, and their farming practices. We learned so much about the growing process, the types of grapes, and the opportunity to see the production process. Fabio is a treasure trove of the local stories and made for a wonderful day. This tour allowed us to interact with the local people, enjoy delicious food, and offer a special experience.

We had a wonderful experience, it was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Portugal! Fabio, our tour guide, picked us up and returned us to our condo after the tour, and he was incredible He was very friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the wine but the area we were visiting. We loved the fact that it was just the 4 of us in our group with him. The wines at each winery were very enjoyable, the lunch spot was incredible and the food fantastic. A great excusrsion, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Algarve. A visit to a small producer and then a visit to a larger commercial vineyard. Then a beautiful lunch in Silves. Fabio is an excellent guide, he has great knowledge of the area and the viticulture in the region.

A great day of wine and wineries followed up by a hearty meal in the mountain town of Monchique. Fabulous wines and food. Fabio was a great host and went into alot of detail about grape growing, harvesting and wine production in the region. Highly recommended!

Our wine tour day with Fabio was excellent. It was time well spent to see the area, learn about the terroir, local varietals and influences on the wine in this region.
