Sei una persona che ama la natura e le escursioni? Se è così, scopriamo le Southern Ridges, una serie di colline e parchi che collegano Kent Ridge Park, Hort Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Mount Faber Park e Labrador Nature Reserve. Durante questa escursione, cammineremo verso l'Henderson Waves, un ponte pedonale che attraversa una profonda valle 36 metri più in basso. Procederemo quindi verso Faber Point, il punto più alto del Mount Faber Park. Dalle aree di osservazione lì, avremo una vista panoramica della città, della regione meridionale di Singapore e delle isole meridionali. Scopri anche la vita quotidiana di un singaporiano medio e lo sviluppo delle industrie abitative e marittime di Singapore. Questa escursione ti porta attraverso una foresta secondaria con una diversa varietà di flora e fauna. Mentre camminiamo lungo le cime degli alberi, fai attenzione al biacco orientale che si crogiola sui rami, al richiamo della cicala o al canto del bulbul dalla testa di paglia. Questo viaggio è sicuramente un paradiso per gli amanti della natura!

Attraversare un ponte sopraelevato che taglia l'adinandra belukar, un distinto tipo di foresta secondaria dove la foresta si rigenera dopo un estenuante sfruttamento agricolo. Cerca la ricca flora e fauna, come il bulbul dalla testa di paglia, il formicaio tessitore o il serpente a frusta orientale, tra la chioma degli alberi. Condividerò anche con te i tipi di fauna selvatica che si possono trovare a Singapore.
Il Terrace Garden è costituito da una serie di terrazze semicircolari situate in cima alla collina di Telok Blangah. Da qui potrai godere di una vista mozzafiato a 360 gradi di Singapore. Se sei fortunato, potremmo vedere fiorire un mare di bouganville rosa.
L'Henderson Waves è un ponte pedonale che attraversa una profonda valle 36 metri più in basso. L'esclusivo design ondulato delle Henderson Waves crea uno spettacolo insolito e un famoso spot fotografico.

Was an amazing tour, our tour guide was Keith and he was very friendly and very patient. Always waited for us to catch up when we were going up the stairs. He was also very informative about plants and trees we passed. Absolutely recommend anyone taking this tour with Keith! He is the best!!,
Fantastic morning to hike the Southern Ridges! Keith was happy to spot the common hill mynah and thanks to Jill, the bronzeback snake. Peter and Jill are a lovely jovial couple. Enjoy your stay in Singapore :)

Fine day for a walk in the Southern Ridges. Keith was happy to spot not one, but two of our native green crested lizard together with you! And also the greater racket-tailed drongo. Julie and Paul are polite and happy to share their stories. Take care and safe flight home :)
Keith was a fabulous guide - very passionate and, as a Singapore local, very happy to share his knowledge of local life and culture, as well as the plant life we saw along the way. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone keen to see the green and largely unseen part of Singapore that lies so close to the centre. A reasonable degree of fitness is a prerequisite. While Keith takes plenty of time to stop and explain things along the way, getting up Mt Faber takes some energy!
Fantastic weather for a walk in the southern ridges! Keith enjoyed sharing about the local flora and fauna, and the 'toothpick' story on one of the palm tree. Wendy and Martin were polite and friendly guests! Take care and hope to see you again :)
This is a very well organised trip and Keith, our guide, provided very professional and clear communication via Whats App prior to the event, even adjusting the start from 8:30am to 9:30 am to accommodate our request due to our jetlag. The starting point at Hort Park office is easily reached by taxi for a reasonable price. On the morning of our walk the heavens opened and it started to rain heavily but this did not dampen our experience as Keith was really enthusiastic and professional and talked to us about a whole range of life, history and culture in Singapore. The walk itself is easy but there are some steep bits and some steps to navigate so should be borne in mind by those with mobility needs. The walk enabled us to see the nature that surrounds the city and when we reached the top of Mount Faber this afforded us with a brilliant view. Fortunately the rain had stopped at this point so we could see for miles. Keith was really entertaining and had a great sense of humour. He speaks really good English and was also very interested in what's happening around the world so we enjoyed good overall conversation as well as learning lots about the Singaporean way of life. Along the way he invited us to taste local produce from the area, including the notorious Durian fruit which has a very specific smell and taste and is not for the faint hearted! The end of the walk is located at the Mount Faber cable car station and I had booked a separate ticket for the cable car in order to combine the end of the walk with a trip over to Sentosa Island. I would recommend this combination to make a full day. Keith showed us the entrance to the station which was very kind. Thankyou Keith for being a great guide. A perfect way to amble away a rainy Sunday morning in Singapore.
A wet morning hike and glad you survived it, Julia & Paul! The intermittent rain was not part of the package but provided Keith the chance to share with you other topics on Singapore! He had fun learning of Lake District (pretty photos) from you as well. Take care and hope to see you again :)
Keith our local guide walked us through Hort Park , Henderson Wave Bridge and Mt Faber look out at a comfortable scenic pace. Keith was able to inform and answer our questions regarding the trees and plant growth, history of the area and knew where to take some lovely memorable photos along our walk. Not to mention a great local coffee cafe at the end of our tour that made a perfect latte coffee. Thank you. 5/5
