L'unico tour del marmo di Carrara che ti permette di entrare in una vera grotta. Piacere di conoscerti! Siamo autisti e accompagnatori turistici... vorremmo mostrarvi una gemma nascosta della Toscana! Ti verrò a prendere con il mio furgone professionale della zona di Lucca o Pisa e ti porterò sulla montagna di Carrara. Raggiungeremo la grotta e salteremo su una Jeep 4x4 che potrà guidarci all'interno. Una guida turistica professionista ti spiegherà tutto sulla storia di questo luogo leggendario: non solo come lavorano ed estraggono il marmo, ma anche come producono un vino speciale o come riconoscere un vero marmo di Carrara da uno falso. Alla fine del tour, usciremo dalla grotta e ti accompagnerò nel piccolo villaggio di Colonnata: un posto molto piccolo e autentico famoso per un gustosissimo tipo di salame... "lardo di colonnata"! Posso portarti nel miglior negozio di alimentari per comprare un pezzo di lardo o provare a prenotare un ristorante locale per una degustazione! Un tour fuori dai sentieri battuti :)

Avrai la possibilità unica di visitare una vera grotta di marmo di Carrara. Questo è l'unico tour che ti darà l'opportunità di entrare in una grotta dove, ancora adesso, si estrae marmo puro.
Visiteremo il piccolo borgo di Colonnata: il luogo dove si produce il "lardo" (un tipo di salame molto gustoso). La terrazza panoramica vi farà godere di una splendida vista sulle cave di marmo di Carrara. Anche la restante 1 ora è per il tempo di viaggio 30 minuti di guida all'andata e 30 minuti di guida al ritorno

This was such an interesting tour. It was well run. Besides the marble cave tour, we had a good lunch (paid for separately) of lardo. I recommend this tour.
This was a very unique experience that our group of 7 really enjoyed. We had an amazing tour guide -Raffaele- who provided us with so much information. Our visit to Colonnata was extra special. It’s a sweet little town that we are glad we didn’t miss. A great way to spend a day in the Lucca area. Highly recommended!
What a great day. We saw the countryside, toured inside the Carrara mine and had a fun lunch. Our guide was amazing and went out of his way for us at every turn. He even brought my husband his cane which he had left in the car. We would recommend this tour to anyone interested in marble or just how the mining process works.
Our experience with Viator was excellent. From preliminary details, communicating on text, picking us up and taking us on the journey were all flawless. In addition to taking us to the marble tour, Marco took us to an amazing lunch at a very local restaurant with some of the top food in Italy so far!!
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The marble cave wad extremely interesting. Our drive was beautiful and lunch with local delicacies was delicious and the view breathtaking.

An excursion of a lifetime! Our new friend, Thomaso, our driver and guide, was informational and engaging! Everything from the start was seamless. The drive over seemed to take very little time because he engaged with all of the passengers on the tour. Once we arrived at Carrara, we took a 4 wheel drive into the cave. At that point Francesca , one of the members of the family who mine the marble, gave an amazing discussion of the process required to extract huge blocks of marble from the only internal mines in Carrara. After the tour we drove up to the city of Colonnada. We enjoyed a fun luncheon with lardo, meats, wine and bread. A fantastic day that we all highly recommend.

Our driver Marco was super! On time, friendly, very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English. We totally enjoyed the ride to Carrara Quarry. We stopped for a snack of Lardo in Colonatta that was really fun and interesting.

Fantastic trip and most enjoyable! The guide was very curteous and well informed and had great ideas on engaging us with the other tour members . It was a small party and the executive transporter certainly not a van as described!. The internal trip in the Carrara mine was part of a larger tour, but that all went seamlessly and was very informative - Overall a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend this guide
