Itinerario
Per iniziare il nostro viaggio gastronomico, ci rinfrescheremo con le aguas frescas, bevande tradizionali messicane a base di frutta fresca, erbe aromatiche o fiori, miscelate con acqua e un tocco di dolcezza. Dall'ibisco saporito (giamaica) all'horchata dolce e rinfrescante, queste bevande sono il modo perfetto per iniziare la nostra gustosa avventura!
In questa tappa, gusteremo le enchiladas de mole, un piatto messicano molto amato con tortillas di mais ripiene di tenero pollo o manzo, soffocate in una ricca salsa di talpe vellutata. Realizzata con una miscela perfetta di peperoncini, cioccolato e spezie, questa salsa aggiunge un sapore profondo e complesso che si abbina perfettamente al ripieno salato. Condita con formaggio fresco, cipolle e una spolverata di semi di sesamo, ogni boccone è un vero assaggio della tradizione messicana!
A questa sosta, ci tufferemo nella birria, un ricco stufato a cottura lenta di Jalisco. Realizzata con carne tenera e marinata e una miscela di peperoncini e spezie, la birria è celebrata per i suoi sapori audaci e sapidi. Servito con cipolle fresche, coriandolo e una spremuta di lime, questo piatto è un vero assaggio della tradizione messicana.
In questa sosta, esploreremo un vivace mercato locale, dove potrai dare un'occhiata di prima mano agli ingredienti freschi che formano il cuore della cucina messicana. Passeggia tra bancarelle colorate traboccanti di una varietà di verdure, frutta esotica e una splendida gamma di peperoncini secchi e freschi. Avrai anche la possibilità di assistere al tradizionale processo di produzione della tortilla, mentre la gente del posto preme e cucina le tortilla fresche proprio davanti ai tuoi occhi - una parte essenziale di ogni pasto messicano!
In questa sosta, gusteremo zuppe condite con carnitas, un delizioso duo che mette in risalto il tradizionale cibo di strada messicano. Le zuppe sono torte di mais spesse e pressate a mano con una leggera croccantezza, stratificate con fagioli fritti, lattuga fresca e formaggio sbriciolato. A completare il tutto ci sono succose e tenere carnitas: carne di maiale a cottura lenta e saporita che si scioglie in bocca. Ogni boccone offre una miscela perfetta di consistenze e sapori ricchi e autentici!
In questa sosta, ci dedicheremo a uno dei piatti più iconici del Messico: i tacos. Queste morbide tortillas di mais sono farcite con una varietà di carni salate, dalla bistecca alla carneta a cottura lenta o al chorizo piccante, e condite con cipolle fresche, coriandolo e una spremuta di lime. Un vero assaggio del Messico in ogni boccone!
A questa fermata, ci dedicheremo alla paletas, un rinfrescante ghiaccio messicano a base di frutta fresca, latte cremoso o persino cioccolato. Con una varietà di gusti tra cui scegliere, tra cui mango, fragola e cocco, ogni boccone offre una delizia fresca e dolce perfetta per concludere il tour con un'esplosione di sapore!

What a lovely way to eat some delicious local food in San Jose Del Cabo. Adrian was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Plenty of walking but worth it for the great bites and the small group exploration!

Our guide, Adrian, was great. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. The food was excellent and it was a fun way to see Mexico outside of the tourist zones. It was a bit of a hike - more than I anticipated, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues.

The food and guide were good, but the walk to get from place to place was along very narrow, uneven and dangerous sidewalks (if you could call them that!) , and mostly uphill. It was extremely hot, and I was having a hard time in the heat, so our guide did get us an uber to a place quite far away which would have been a difficult walk. . We were the only couple on the tour, and I’m sure it would have been more enjoyable to travel with a larger group. We thought we would also see the nicer part of San Jose del Cabo to visit some of the restaurants we had heard about, but we were in the original, local part of town- very poor, the entire time. Had to step over an older man asleep on the sidewalk. My husband gave his bottle of water to an old lady with no legs- trying to sell trinkets . We were given only one bottle of water each. We had to buy our second bottle. Never offered the opportunity to purchase a cold margarita. Also, had to cross a very busy major street with no cross walk to get to our last eating place. Disappointed in this tour.
Arlin was our tour guide and she was amazing! So warm and friendly. The tour itself was great, we got to try many dishes and I was so full afterwards. It is walking but it’s not too much walking. Thank you Arlin!!

Adrian was great. Rather than making all the arrangements ahead of time he listened to our dietary preferences and then based our visits on what would fit best. It was great to get away from the tourist hot spots and eat where the locals go. It was a very hot and humid day so we appreciated that some of the stops had air conditioning and he even had us duck inside some air conditioned stores to break up some of the longer walking segments. My husband is a slow walker with balance issues, and Adrian was very helpful about pointing out obstacles in the sidewalk ahead of time and we didn’t feel rushed to keep up with a predetermined pace. The tour ended up being about 3.5 hours but it didn’t feel that long at all. Everything was delicious and we left full and happy.
