Tour dei vini La Rioja e Laguardia da Bilbao

We had a wonderful day to the Rioja wineries with Adur. Not only was he knowledgeable about the history and culture of the region, but he added to our experience by personalizing the day for us according to our interests, answering our endless questions. The tour was engaging to this beautiful region, made all the more special because of Adur. Not to mention the lovely lunch (and cheesecake) in La Guardia. We bumped into Adur again in San Sebastián when he was leading another tour. We were at a restaurant that he had recommended to us! Such a special day with beautiful memories and very special guide. Highly recommended.

Wine tasting guide with Jose was incredible. Pick up was from our hotel along with one other couple. Jose has excellent knowledge of Bilbao and the surrounding Basque Country, both historical and current. He was also very informative about the local wineries. Definitely book this tour if you want to get a better understanding of the wines of the Rioja region and also the local food and culture. Tony and Gail.

Our guide Adur was fantastic! We were expecting a great trip through Basque wine country and ended up with a wonderful trip that included an intriguing overview of Spanish history and how it related to the Basque Country through which we were traveling. Adur’s interaction during our wine tours made the experiences even better as he was able to help interpret when our broken Spanish and absent Basque language was insufficient (he’s fluent in several languages). The wineries that he chose for us to visit were quite different but complimented each other and gave us a broad experience. we had lunch in LaGuardia and it was perfect! we trusted Adur to choose the pintxos for us based on our previous discussions and he nailed it. Overall, 15/10 experience. When we come back to Basque Country, we will be asking for Adur for any tours that he is available for!

Make sure to have a breakfast and liquid before you start this tour, as you can easily over imbibe drinking before lunch. Each winery had bread, cheese, cured meat and water available; take advantage of these. Eating and drinking water while tasting wine can enhance your sense of smell and taste creating new flavors to experience. The tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable on local history and the wine guides knew their products and wine history.

Pilar was an exceptional guide for our Rioja wine tour. The day included visits to two very different wineries and a stop in the beautiful medieval walled city of Laguardia. She was incredibly informative and clearly passionate about Rioja wine, its history, and the winemakers behind it. A fantastic experience from start to finish!

Perfect from pick up to drop off. Adur took us to Tritium and Pecina. 80000 bottles and 300000 bottles… tasted some and bought some, learned about acidity and sugar balance in the grapes. Amazed at how much work and time goes into producing a single bottle. Enjoyed the nose and palate. We were shown famous architecture in the area and enjoyed a delicious lunch in LaGuardia including cheesecake 😋. A scenic ride back home. Eskerrik asko Adur for your expertise and humour ☺️

Tour to two wineries in La Rioja. These were small wineries and the experience was marvelous. The tour guide (Adur) was magnificent. Lunch was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.
