Il castello di Elmina fu fondato dai portoghesi nel 1482 come São Jorge da Mina (San Giorgio della miniera) a Elmina, Ghana (ex Costa d'oro). Il castello di Elmina ed Elmina fu la prima stazione commerciale costruita nel Golfo di Guinea, quindi è il più antico edificio europeo esistente sotto il Sahara. Fu inizialmente istituito come un insediamento commerciale, ma in seguito divenne una delle fermate più importanti sulla rotta della tratta degli schiavi nell'Atlantico. Oggi il Castello di Elmina è un famoso sito storico ed è stato un importante luogo di ripresa per il film drammatico del 1987 "Cobra Verde" di Werner Herzog. È una destinazione estremamente popolare per i turisti afroamericani che cercano di connettersi con la loro eredità e un potente promemoria della storia della tratta degli schiavi.
Il castello di Cape Coast è uno dei più grandi castelli costruiti dalle potenze europee nell'odierno Ghana. Iniziò come una casetta commerciale costruita dai portoghesi nel 1555 su una parte della Gold Coast, che in seguito divenne nota come Cape Coast. Nel 1653, in seguito alla conquista svedese della Cape Coast, la società svedese Africa costruì una fortezza permanente in legno per il commercio di legname e oro. È aperto al pubblico ed è attualmente un museo storico con un negozio di articoli da regalo per arti e mestieri del Ghana, ed è la sede regionale del Consiglio dei musei e dei monumenti del Ghana.

I booked the day before without conviction because I had a driver problem but very quick response and phew there was room! Med came to pick us up and he is a great guide! Malik and Mannan were amazing private guides. We throughly enjoyed the tour, and our time with them. Started off as strangers and became friends by the end of it. I was hesitant at the beginning. My excitement kicked in the moment we pulled into the parking lot. The walk at Karkum National Park was a memorable experience. I will definitely advice any adventurer to do the Canopy Walk... The entire experience is worth every penny.... Tour guides are very hospitable.

We were able to tour with Med. We are a family of 9. I cannot express my gratitude for Med enough. His patience for planning our trips was next level. Then we get on the trips and everything flowed so smoothly. Med watched out for us and gave us a well-rounded experience. We wanted to try food from the road side and restaurants, everything was yummyyyy. When we did the canopy walk Med walked with us that could not go too fast. He helped plan a surprise for my sister birthday at the resort. Med was attentive, caring , open, and funny. You should book all of his trips.
