Iniziamo con un incontro al punto di partenza coordinato con il nostro operatore fino a raggiungere il 1° punto: Le Grotte dei Tre Occhi, dove esplorerai le sue meraviglie sotterranee con una guida esperta. Faremo una sosta al Grande Faro di Colombo per scattare foto incredibili, inaugurato da Papa Giovanni Paolo II e visiteremo il grande Palazzo Presidenziale e altri punti emblematici della Repubblica Dominicana. Continueremo il tour nella storica Zona Coloniale, ammirando l'Alcázar di Colón, il maestoso Pantheon Nazionale e la Cattedrale Primaziale d'America. Continueremo con il Convento Domenicano, cammineremo lungo via Las Damas ed esploreremo il Museo dell'Ambra. Dopo esserti immerso nella storia, ci fermeremo per gustare un autentico pranzo dominicano in un luogo ricco di storia e tradizione locale, dove imparerai di più sulla cultura della zona. Concluderemo la nostra giornata con l'artigianato locale e Ti riporteremo al tuo hotel.

In questo parco nazionale troveremo uno dei segreti naturali meglio custoditi della città, i suoi 4 laghi: 1. Lago di Zolfo: Il primo lago che abbiamo potuto vedere da quando siamo entrati, il suo nome è dovuto al fatto che sul suo fondo si nota una sostanza sbiancata e quindi la gente pensava che fosse zolfo. 2. Lago delle Donne: Il suo nome è dovuto al fatto che in precedenza veniva utilizzato come centro termale e, per la sua posizione discreta ed essendo poco profondo, era riservato alle donne. La sua parte più profonda è profonda 2,5 metri. 3. La Nevera: Il suo nome è dovuto alle basse temperature che raggiunge poiché non riceve mai la luce del sole, la sua temperatura varia tra i 15°C e i 21°C. 4. Los Zaramagullones: Questo è il 4° lago, il suo nome è dovuto ad una specie di anatre anfibie originarie della zona. Ha un'impressionante vegetazione naturale che circonda il lago.
Faro A Colon è un monumento a forma di croce che ricorda la cristianizzazione delle Americhe, misura circa 800 metri di lunghezza e 36,5 metri di altezza. Sebbene si credesse che ospitasse i resti dell'ammiraglio Cristoforo Colombo, studi genetici hanno confermato che i suoi resti si trovano nella Cattedrale di Siviglia. Quando il faro è acceso, proietta una luce a forma di croce nel cielo notturno, visibile da circa 40 miglia di distanza. Tuttavia, questa potente illuminazione può causare problemi con l’elettricità nei quartieri vicini, quindi il faro viene acceso solo in occasioni speciali.
Il Pantheon Nazionale è un mausoleo dove sono conservate le spoglie di personaggi di spicco della storia della Repubblica Dominicana. Il Pantheon Nazionale ha circa 36 spazi vuoti per ospitare i futuri eroi. C'è anche uno spazio vuoto senza targa, dedicato al Milite Ignoto. Esiste una Guardia d'Onore permanente, composta da membri della guardia presidenziale, vestiti a festa, senza muovere un solo muscolo. Uno di essi compie un solenne giro circolare nella navata centrale, che va dall'ingresso principale fino alla parte anteriore dell'Altare Maggiore. Insieme alla bandiera dominicana vengono esposte le bandiere dell'Aeronautica Militare, della Marina e dell'Esercito della Repubblica Dominicana.
Il Museo delle Case Reali o Palazzi Reali, come veniva chiamato ai tempi del capitano generale e della provincia, aveva sede in due palazzi, che risalgono al XVI secolo. Questo palazzo reale fu costruito per ordine della Corona di Castiglia, sotto il regno di Ferdinando II d'Aragona, il 5 ottobre 1511, con lo scopo di ospitare i principali uffici governativi dell'epoca. Questo era chiamato Palazzo delle Case Reali, poiché lì si trovava la Corte Reale, che fu la prima corte del Nuovo Mondo, era utilizzato anche come Residenza dei Governatori e Capitani Generali dell'epoca. Questo edificio fu la residenza di persone come Bartolomeo Colombo, Louis Ferrand, tra gli altri. Nelle sale della Regia Corte si tenevano importanti riunioni o feste composte dai principali personaggi della società dell'epoca.
Parque Colón, il luogo principale o piazza ricreativa della Città Coloniale, circondato da importanti monumenti come la Cattedrale Primaziale d'America, il primo Municipio di Santo Domingo, Calle el Conde, riconosciuta per i suoi famosi ristoranti Nel parco si trova la statua di Cristoforo Colombo eretta dallo scultore francese Ernesto Gilbert nel 1887.

La via Las Damas è stata la prima strada di Santo Domingo, nella Repubblica Dominicana e in America. Situata nella Città Coloniale, deve il suo nome al fatto che all'inizio della colonia le dame passeggiavano lungo quella strada, attualmente decorata con piastrelle coloniali. Questa strada ha come attrazioni Fortaleza Ozama, La Real Audiencia, la casa di Don Rodrigo de Bastidas, il museo per bambini "Trampolín", case coloniali (alcune con scudi coloniali) e alla fine Plaza España. Famiglie illustri della colonia costruirono le loro case in questa strada, tra cui gli Oviedo, i Dávila, gli Heredia, i Campuzano Polanco, l'Infante e i Coca.

If you come on vacation to the Dominican Republic, it is highly recommended to take this tour. The city of Santo Domingo is incredibly wonderful regarding its culture and architecture; moreover, it is a country that takes great care of its cultural heritage. The guide Leo, known as the professor, is a very cultured person; he knows his country and history like the back of his hand and is always very willing to answer any questions you may have. The time allocated for visits to each place is just right. Highly recommended.
This was a good tour but the organisation of the pick-up and return was abysmal. Nobody arrived to pick us up and after contacting the company they sent an Uber to take us to the meeting point which wasn't an ideal start to the day. Our first port of call was Tres Ojos which is a very beautiful place. We then visited the Lighthouse but we weren't able to go in. Then we had a photo stop at the Presidential Palace. After this we had lunch which was very nice. After this we walked to Zona Colonial and after a shopping stop we visited the cathedral. This is much more impressive on the inside than it is on the out. We then continued to Calle Las Damas and our final port of call being the Pantheon. This concluded the tour and our guide, Daniel, was good. Unfortunately there then came the issue of transportation back to our hotel, which was included in our package. We were told that we would have to pay the driver USD15 even though there was already another passenger going to a different hotel less than 1km away. We declined this and got a Uber at a fraction of the price. This left a bad taste in the mouth
This was supposed to be a six hour tour. Instead it started at 11 and ended about 3:30. Some of the things pictured, we merely drove by. The guide was ok. Not brilliant. But not bad. The pick up arrangements were botched. They ended up calling an Uber for me who took me to the first stop on the tour. The lunch was filling. But à la grade school cafeteria. All those criticisms aside, I still saw good stuff and learned, too. I might go again. Just wish they’d do better.
There is a lot of walking involved and a lot of steps at the Tres Ojos. The tour guide Miguelon was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide.
I booked 4 May 25 Santo Domingo Cultural Tour. Waiting since 940am as pick up.starting time is 10am. But till 11am, I could not seen the tour guide. It is terrible your operator M&E Tour.
We paid for the tour in full, got our vouchers and confirmed the day, time and location of our pick-up (JW Marriott Hotel). We were in the hotel lobby 20 minutes early but M&E never showed. The hotel called M&E directly no fewer than three times, getting different excuses each time. Eventually, M&E proposed sending an Uber driver to pick us up and take us to the first stop on the tour, hoping to find the tour guide. The problem with that is that the Uber driver would have no idea what the tour guide looked like, he didn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish. The hotel insisted that M&E send a representative to escort us and M&E refused. The hotel then suggested that they send a hotel taxi with English-speaking driver to remain in contact until the tour guide was found, and for which M&E would need to reimburse the hotel, and M&E rejected that idea as well. At this point, the hotel urged us - for our own safety - not to proceed and, of course, they were right. Viator was not much better in assisting us to get a refund for the "no show". Dragging their feet, they took days claiming to "review the booking details" which had nothing to do with the tour operator not showing up. It was only through our own efforts that we finally got a refund. Thanks for nothing, Viator. DO NOT BOOK AN M&E TOUR!
After paying in full and printing out the voucher for our tour - which included the pick-up address of our hotel and the pick-up time - and our being in the lobby 20 minutes in advance of the pick-up time, the tour operator, M&E TOURS, never showed. Our hotel called no fewer than three times, always getting a different excuse. Finally, the tour operator absurdly suggested that he would send a random Uber driver to pick us up and take us to the park where the tour's first stop was to be, the problem being that the Uber driver would have no idea what the tour guide looked like, the driver didn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish (hence signing up for an English language tour) and our hotel insisted that the tour company send its own representative. The tour operator refused and the hotel then offered to send a hotel taxi with an English-speaking driver who would stay in communication until we were safely put with the tour, and for which the tour operator would have to reimburse the hotel. The tour operator refused that and became belligerent with the hotel representatives. At this point, the hotel urged us not to proceed for our own safety and, of course, the were right. Viator wasn't much more helpful when we finally found some chatbot to complain to, taking days to "review our booking details". It was only through our own efforts that we got a refund. Thank for nothing, Viator. AVOID M&E TOURS!
They forgot to look for us, we waited 50 minutes and called them. They sent us a Huber, I wanted him to pay for the trip, of course I didn't pay for it. In the 3 Eyes Park, where the tour began, no one expected us. I called again on the phone and soon a person appeared to take us with the guide. He had already done the first part with the other hikers, he had to do it again with us and the other people wait, very angry rightly, a bad time without it being our fault. The guide was excellent.
They pick up late , always in a rush,poor choice of food , didn't show us anything in los tres ojos and the monument of colon and we didn't get off the bus so we didn't take pictures
It was an amazing experience and I recommend everyone that comes to Santo Domingo to do it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and he made sure we had a great time.
