Perfectly titled as it is really a cultural and food tour both. We calmed traditional Finnish food and drinks that were not just delicious but in settings that helped mix culture and food too. It was like being shown the city and best spots by a friend. Jola was a gem of a guide. You couldn’t hope for better. So glad we booked this
We went with Ruslan and had an amazing afternoon! We discovered a lot of new spots to eat and relax in Helsinki and also got a nice share of cultural and history background information. Ruslan was a very capable guide!
A lot of city national and regional history while eating some really good food. Our tour guide Rusland was wonderful in that he was engaging interesting and friendly.
Ruslan was a great tour guide with insightful tips. We got to experience a lot in the 2.5 hours. We ended up purchasing some Finnish glassware from II TTALA and went back for more Fazer chocolates. Ruslan told us about a hidden “spy” bar which was a gem. We had a fabulous Finnish meal and got to try a flight of beers at a local brew house .
Our guide Ruslan was great. Friendly and very knowledgable. The mixture of seeing both the markets and restaurants made for a nice afternoon. The weather was surprisingly warm. Highly recommended.
Great local food, learned about local culture, Ruslan was an excellent guide and extremely knowledgeable. Learned more than expected!
Lovely cultural walk through the Helsinki city center with amazing sights and good food. Easy to find starting location and sets you up to go back and try places.
A thorough tour of food hall with ideas for when we return on our own. Delicious selection of Finnish food and some history and culture along the way.
Ruslan was a very nice person who had a lot of great historical knowledge. The problem was the food was pretty meh. I’ve done a number of food tours and the food aspect of this tour was lacking. Not worth the money for sure. We started at the food hall and got a few nibbles which was fine. Then we walked to a restaurant and had lunch there. Lunch was ok. Nothing special. It seemed like a touristy place. Then we had some chocolates from a chocolate store and had rooftop drinks. The rooftop was beautiful. But overall, the food was nothing special and nothing we wouldn’t have done on our own.
Hi, Thanks for your honest feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the tour did not quite meet your expectations on the culinary part. The foods served on the tour are very classical and represent the traditional Finnish cuisine. Which is not fine dining, but rather simple foods made from pure ingredients. If you were looking for more of a fine dining experience or very exotic tastes, I understand that it felt lacking. Our focus in this experience is to drawn an complete picture of Finnish culture and lifestyle while tasting away things people actually like to eat here. I'll take your feedback and try to make the tour description more accurate. I'm happy to hear you appreciated the guide work and storytelling part of the tour. Best regards Jouko Väärälä CEO
Kieto was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. We learned a lot about the city and its rich history. While the food was delicious, we felt like our guide really honed in on our interests to customize our experience. As he learned about us, we learned more about him and his kind take on the world. We’d highly recommend enjoying this “taste” of Helsinki with Kieto.
