Il Gianicolo è uno dei posti migliori a Roma per avere una vista panoramica delle cupole delle chiese e dei campanili della Città Eterna. Nella piazza si erge una statua di Giuseppe Garibaldi, una delle figure centrali dell'Unità d'Italia nel XIX secolo.
L'Isola Tiberina è una minuscola isola situata nell'ansa meridionale del fiume Tevere. Associata alla guarigione fin dall'antichità, l'isola è ancora sede di uno degli ospedali di Roma.
Uno dei numerosi archi trionfali di Roma, l'Arco di Costantino si trova vicino al Colosseo e può essere visto senza biglietto d'ingresso.
Il Circo Massimo è un antico stadio romano per corse di bighe reso famoso dal film "Ben Hur". Situato nella valle tra l'Aventino e il Palatino, fu il primo e il più grande stadio dell'antica Roma e del successivo Impero.
La Domus Augustana era la reggia dell'imperatore Augusto. Situato sul colle Palatino, l'imperatore poteva assistere da casa sua alle corse delle bighe nel Circo Massimo.
Il Teatro Marcello è un sito architettonico insolito a Roma. In origine era un'arena dell'Antica Roma, costruita negli ultimi anni della Repubblica Romana. Avanti veloce di molti secoli e le abitazioni furono costruite in cima all'anfiteatro. Oggi, questi appartamenti sono alcuni degli immobili più costosi di Roma, dimora dei ricchi della Città Eterna.
Dal retro del Campidoglio, fai un viaggio indietro nel tempo mentre ammiri l'affascinante Foro Romano. Questo spazio pubblico era il centro della vita civile nei tempi antichi e contiene le rovine di molte strutture importanti, tra cui il Rostro dove Marc'Antonio tenne il suo appassionato discorso sul corpo dell'assassinato Giulio Cesare.
Il monumento a Vittorio Emanuele, primo re dell'Italia unita, è un gigantesco monumento in marmo bianco, fulcro di Piazza Venezia. Dall'altra parte della piazza c'è il balcone dal quale Mussolini tenne i suoi famosi discorsi durante il fascismo.
La Fontana di Trevi è la più grande fontana barocca della città e una delle fontane più famose al mondo. La fontana è apparsa in diversi film importanti, in particolare "La dolce vita" di Federico Fellini.
Ex tempio romano di tutti gli dei, ora chiesa cattolica, il Pantheon è una meraviglia dell'ingegneria romana. Siete sicuri di essere affascinati dal soffitto a cassettoni con è oculo gigante (abbastanza largo per abbassare un autobus a due piani attraverso!) NOTA BENE: La visione del Pantheon dall'esterno è gratuita. A partire da luglio 2023, è necessario un biglietto per visitare l'interno. Il biglietto costa 10 euro a persona. Se desideri entrare nel Pantheon, puoi acquistare il biglietto in loco.
Costruita sul sito dello Stadio di Domiziano nel I secolo d.C., quest'arena fu successivamente trasformata in una piazza che esemplifica l'architettura barocco-romana. Presenta importanti opere scultoree nelle sue tre fontane. La più imponente si trova al centro della piazza: la bellissima Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi del Bernini (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi)
In Piazza San Pietro, ti godrai l'ampia piazza fiancheggiata dagli eleganti colonnati del Bernini e dalla chiesa più grande della cristianità. Tempo permettendo, puoi entrare nella basilica (in alta stagione, le file per passare attraverso la sicurezza e il controllo dell'abbigliamento adeguato sono solitamente molto lunghe). NOTA BENE: I Musei Vaticani non sono inclusi in questa escursione.

Driver was 30 min late for pick up from the cruise ship. Was just my daughter and I with another family. The family just wanted to eat so didnt see as many sights as we could. Every stop they had to eat so took more time. Driver would drop us off at a corner and tell us to go see stuff. No direction of where to go. Still had to use Google maps and missed stuff like paletine hill because I wasnt told it was in the same area. Would have been nice to have the driver stay with us and tell us historical facts of the area. Would have been nice to have been provided a map so i could have guided us places alone. Very disappointing.
An exceptional tour of the highlights of Rome. Note, we booked a driver not a tour guide. However, our personal driver, Loretta, explained to us the fascinating history of many monuments of Rome. Her professionalism and beautiful personality is truly an awesome combination. Loretta ensured the day was well-structured to give us time to spend at each site, but without wasting time hanging around. We can only describe it as the perfect tour. If you want to see several sites and understand some of the less obvious background knowledge of Rome, Loretta is just the person; she is superb. We were equally impressed with her expert ability to safely and efficiently navigate the busy roads of Rome. We loved every minute of this tour! Loretta, sei semplicemente la migliore. Note: If you want to spend a lot of time at different sites such as queuing and going in the within the internal area of the Colosseum, you will need to be realistic about the time you have available. This tour is ideal for seeing several key sites - 'a taste of Rome'.

Matteo was the best driver and guide for our tour! He picked us up on time from the cruise port and drove us the hour into the city, the whole time educating us about Rome and the surrounding area. He even had lunch recommendations and booked us a table at a great pizza place. Matteo offered us cold water and gave us plenty of free time at many stops to explore on our own. We had an amazing experience with Matteo. He was an excellent guide. On Viator it listed out a different itinerary which I wasn’t thrilled about since it only drove by the Colosseum and didn’t stop at the Spanish Steps. I debated whether to use this company or another but decided to go with this one and talk to the driver. We didn’t even need to bring this up because Matteo was already planning to make the changes we had wanted. Circus Maximus is not really worth stopping at, it is more a drive by attraction too. He knows the city and what he is doing. He even gave dining recommendations and made reservations for us. I highly recommend this company and I hope you get Matteo.

We had a FANTASTIC time in Rome! Our tour guide was Matt from Driver in Rome. BEST tour guide ever! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome. We went to the Colosseum, Roman ruins, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and St. Peter’s Basilica. Also treated us to two unscheduled stops at St. Paul & St. Peter’s Basilica and the Spanish Steps. He made lunch reservations at a restaurant for our group of 8. Amazing carbonara! Took us to a local gelato shop…yum! Thanks Matt!!

Matteo is an an amazing, excellent, talented and informative tour guide and driver. He not only met our expectations but overwhelmingly exceeded it. He gave us the opportunity to visit all the main attractions considering the very crowded and busy day in Rome today (5/28/2026). Matteo took us to eat lunch at a restaurant where locals eat; away from the tourists area - Goose Restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent. It was very “Rome”. Matteo was a fantastic guide, we got to see the highlights of Rome! The air conditioned van was a HUGE bonus it was 32 degrees Celsius. We had a fair amount of time to take photos and sight see, if you’re big into shopping there isn’t enough time in this tour.

I had an absolute incredible time! It was well worth the price in my opinion. The length was perfect, if not almost short but we got so much done it’s hard to complain. Matteo was our driver and guide and he was amazing. He answered all our questions and gave us the right amount of info without being overly chatty. I highly suggest!
