Pidurangala Rock offers one of the most beautiful views in Sri Lanka, especially at sunrise. The climb is a bit challenging but totally worth it. From the top, you get an amazing view of Sigiriya Rock and the surrounding nature. A must-visit for adventure lovers and photographers. 🌄✨
Great view ! Insane atmosphere , Impressive landscape, Nice helpful people , Mega Event , Very cool to make! Also suitable for family with smaller (4) year old children ! There are 2 places where you have to pull the adventure spirit together !
Not to be missed even if not suitable for everyone. Compared to Lion's Rock it has fewer steps, but it is also less organized and includes some stretches where you have to make room between the rocks climbing to go further. It has no overhanging spaces, it is suitable for those suffering from dizziness. Following the advice of our hosts, we went around 4.30 pm and in about 30m we had climbed. The view is amazing and you can admire Lion's Rock from afar. The price is also fair: 1000/1,500 rupees each. Be careful not to go too late to see the sunset or to stay there too. On our return we saw people huddled and blocked for some time, if not probably for hours, because the road has no two directions and therefore you have to do "a little for one" to pass. In August, following our advice, I hope you will not have any problems. We didn't choose any tour, but here I had to indicate one
As others have written better and in full details I corroborate: not so easy ascent requiring a little monkeying. If you have trouble walking abstention is more prudent. But upstairs it's beautiful, maybe even more so than in Lion's rock. And despite the wind and clouds! An exceptional nature and few tourists this day...
Pidurangala was a adventourous hike in the last bit specially where you have to crawl under a rock to get to the top. Best to go there before the sun gets hot. Ideal for sun rise. take enough water to drink
Pidurangala rock just opposite to Sigoya lion rock can see right front view of Sigiri lion rock amazing seenery such a nice view can be seen after climhlng upto the top of the rock including sun rising time. That is the famous aspect of the rock.45 minutes hiking experience also there through the jungle.experience lfeel Wow..jount with " Travel with Dimma " fewl the difference.
We went up late afternoon for the sunset. You first go through a garden full of butterflies and then Stop at a buddhist temple. You then climb up rock steps for a long while and at the top part there is some clambering with ropes. There is a slightly tighter part and then bouldering to the top. It was a tiring climb in the heat but a wo default sunset view across to lion rock and of the Sigiriya landscape. Lots of bats in the air at sunset. We did on the last bouldering part have a bit of a wait as there was a jam between uppers and downers so to speak. Really glad to have completed it and enjoyed the views.
Amazing adventure, perfect view of surrounded area and the best place for the sunset in Sigiriya. If you visiting Sigiriya you must climb and experience
Oh god….what a view…go with comfortable shoes because u need to climb some rocks. In my opinion is not for everyone, you need to understand that what goes up will go down from the same place. Avoid the sunset or be ready to spend 1 hour to go down because most of the people are not civilized and the make sure to go in front of u.
