Itinerario
Procediamo nella vecchia Riyadh, partendo dal centro della città, visitando il tradizionale Dirah Souq (famoso per l'acquisto di tappeti antichi e altri utili oggetti d'antiquariato del patrimonio saudita). La passeggiata è infusa con gli aromi della fragranza del legno di sandalo e altri profumi dell'oriente. Il Souq è noto per l'abbigliamento maschile ed è divertente assistere all'asta che si tiene ogni venerdì
Successivamente, visitiamo il Forte Masmak che si trova a pochi passi dal Vecchio Souq e la cui importanza è legata alla creazione del 3° Regno Saudita, quello moderno in cui viviamo. Il palazzo fortificato fu costruito durante il regno di Abdullah bin Rashid nell'anno 1895 dC per servire come guarnigione militare per l'esercito di Abdullah bin Rashid. Sua Maestà il Re Abdulaziz, il padre della nazione odierna, conquistò il forte nel 1902, segnando l'inizio della riconquista dell'Arabia da parte della Casa di Saud.
Da lì ci dirigeremo verso la famosa Kingdom Tower e il suo Sky Bridge per vedere Riyadh da un punto panoramico a quasi 300 metri sopra la città.

Access to Sky Bridge is a bit hidden, but then it goes up to the wonderful bridge which allows great views of the city.

We went to the kingdom towers and the signage to the bridge was not very clear. After asking a few people and finally finding the place..going up…paying…it seemed like the staff were bored , they used sign language instead of warm friendly welcomes. Went for sunset and it was really warm up there - we couldnt wait till it got dark so we left

We have changed our Hotel and have given the new hotel information into the Tripadvisor booking “update your pickup location”and got a confirmation, but our guide was at pickup time in the former hotel. Tripadvisor has not updated this information to the Tour operator. So we lost over one hour of our half day trip. Our guide Khuram was very friendly and gave good explanations during the tour. He tried everything to be on time at the Skybridge that we were able to see the sunset, but it was gone already. Our learning is that we will never update changes to Tripadvisor anymore, only directly to the Tour operator.
