Per prima cosa, visita il Tempio di Abydos, il Tempio di Seti I ad Abydos fu iniziato durante il regno del faraone Seti I (1318-1304 a.C.) e completato da suo figlio Ramses II (1304-1237 a.C.) durante la XIX dinastia del Nuovo Regno. Il faraone Merneptah aggiunse un grande Ipogeo di Osiride al tempio di Seti. L'ultimo edificio ad essere aggiunto fu il Tempio di Nectanebo I nella XXX dinastia, ma varie aggiunte al sito furono fatte durante il periodo tolemaico e romano
Quindi spostati al Tempio di Hathor a Dendera, sul Nilo a nord di Luxor, è uno degli ultimi templi egizi. Dedicato alla moglie del dio Horus, fu costruito in epoca romana e le sue decorazioni includono imperatori romani accanto a divinità egizie. Insieme ad Abydos più a nord. Il Tempio di Hathor è di forma squadrata e circondato da un portico con spesse colonne e pareti alte circa la metà del tetto. Ci sono molti rilievi di figure e rituali all'esterno del tempio, inclusi faraoni, divinità egizie e imperatori romani. The tour was a personal highlight for me on our trip to Egypt. The two temples in Abydos and Dendera must be seen, especially since hardly any tourist strays there! However, our tour guide Achmed only completed the ride. I myself brought a lot of expertise, so Achmed no longer perceived me as an ordinary tourist, but raised the leadership to a completely different level, so that I could discuss individual temple representations with him as a colleague. What was particularly interesting to me was that his interpretations, which differ from me, often have Muslim backgrounds, which are perfectly justified and occasionally brought a plausible alternative to my knowledge. In this sense, we explored the temples together and had to be careful not to turn a planned hour's stay into three hours. Of particular note is Achmed's infectious enthusiasm for the antiquities as well as his humor and openness. In Dendera we visited a local restaurant together on his tip. The food there was the best and least expensive we got on our trip to Egypt.

It was a very interesting and safe experience. Our guide was polite and very knowledgeable, he had a wide spectrum of understanding of daily life and religion in ancient Egypt. He was always very attentive to us and our queries and explained everything in detail. I will repeat again in a few years when the governmental restoration works are finished. However, both temples are magnificent!

Today’s tour was amazing, we visited Dendera first and then Abydos. The tour guide, Yousin was really professional and very knowledgeable. He made sure I did not have any question left unanswered. He even helped me find the ‘helicopter’ hieroglyph and explained the reason behind it. Loved today’s tour. Recommended 100%
