What a wonderful way to experience Salt Lake City for us 1st timers. Food tours may be our new favorite way to explore a new city. If in doubt, just do it! Your tastebuds will thank you. We are already planning to recreate some of the unique dishes Ray set us up to experience on the tour. Ray’s tour was a treat to spend the afternoon learning and tasting our way through the beautiful city of Salt Lake City with our family.
This was a great food experience. Ray was our tour guide. He is a chef in the city. He took us to some amazing places downtown including a market. He was very knowledgable about the ingredients in the market. He gave us great food recommendations for the rest of our trip. Very friendly and approachable. My partner and I really enjoyed this tour.
We are Utah locals that wanted to explore Salt Lake City in a different way than we usually do. Ray was very knowledgeable about the food culture of the city. As foodies and home cooks, we were introduced to the history behind the food we were eating. Ray is also well connected with other chefs in the city, so it was interesting to learn about some of those people he knew. The food was great, too!
There were only my husband and I . We met at a grocery store Caputo’s . Our guide , Ray gave each of us two pieces of chocolate, 2 pieces of meat, 2 pieces of cheese, and potato chips. Then walked to Pago”s Pizza we had margarita pizza and we each got a cocktail with moon gin . We did get to take what pizza was left home (4 slices)Then we walked to Pretty Bird and our guide gave us each a half of a chicken sandwich. Gem that was the end of the tour. We have taken lots of food tours . Lots of food and drink tours . You eat and taste allot. You taste and drink differ things . This was not worth $288.00 at all. Ray was super nice . I hate to write a bad review but money is money. We didn’t eat or drink $50.00. So disappointing. The girl at the first stop asked when I was buying stems how we liked the tour I told her how much it cost and what we did and she said I know we gave you samples here of chocolates and cheese . I thought you would have more other place to eat and drink .
It was a pleasure to take y'all out. We're always happy to make sure our guests are having a good time and work to make sure the experience is rewarding, so the feedback is appreciated. We respond to guest requests and interests while we're on the tours too, so it's common for us to change up and take our guests to locations that best suit interests. Our tours also tend to focus more on chef experience and insights into dining destinations around the city which is why we tend to avoid rushing through our stops and prefer going to fewer spots to make sure everyone can enjoy the experience. If y'all are in the city again, let us know and we'll show you any new favorite spots as a treat.
Friendly & very knowledgeable tour guide on foods as well as historical-cultural of the city scenes.
Thanks so much for joining us and for the kind words! Please reach out if y'all have any questions from the tour or you have additional interests you'd like to explore around the SLC area.
Interesting, tasty, fun. Josh was great, very knowledgeable. Food and drink experiences we might not have had on our own.
We're so glad y'all had a good time with Josh! He said it was a pleasure taking y'all out and sharing our culinary scene with you. Thanks for the review and let us know if y'all have any questions about the tour or city food.
Went on an amazing food tour with Ray. The food was excellent and Ray was so knowledgeable about the food scene in Salt Lake City. I have been on many food tours, and this one was the absolute best!
Thank you so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure sharing some of Salt Lake's culinary highlights with you. Give is a shout any time you're in town again, we'd love to show you more.
I had a reservation for my daughter and myself, but 2 days before the tour was to be they cancelled it because they could not get a tour guide. I am glad they did.....got the refund and after looking at what you got to eat....3 things and one of them being chocolate.....not worth $150.00 a person.
I do apologize. Our few guides are all kitchen professionals with families and we all had something urgent to attend to so it couldn't be avoided. We did offer to reschedule and would happily do so in the future if you'd like to join us another time. I think you'd find the food to be filling and satisfying, the stops and menu are chef-selected because of their excellence and as local specialties. There's quite a selection ultimately, it's quite a bit more than three things. Maybe give us a try another time. If you book through our website the cost is lower and we even offer discounts pretty regularly. Take care, and again: I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Our tour guide Ray who is also the owner was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable on every aspect of food and beverage. One of our stops was at his restaurant “The Tasting Room” which I highly recommend.
It was such a joy to be your guide and I hope you all will let us know when you visit again. We'd love to show you all the new food highlights and restaurant innovations we've come to love.
This is a fantastic tour. The right balance of delicious Utah centered food, city and state history, and very interesting stories. Ray is an amazing foodie and professor. Highly recommend Beehive bites.
Thanks so much for the praise! I hope y'all enjoyed the rest of your time in town. It was a pleasure to meet you and the family. Please reach out if we can share any insights about local food or if we can be of service some other way.
