Descrizione
Dalla fine del XVIII secolo fino alla metà del XX secolo, il lato di Pest ha potuto crescere con una delle comunità ebraiche più fiorenti della regione. Ripercorreremo ciò che ne rimane e ne ripercorreremo la storia attraverso i monumenti del rione, ricordando anche la tragedia che l'ha quasi messa fine. Vedremo anche come vive la comunità al giorno d'oggi. Uno dei miei principali campi di ricerca è l'eredità e i monumenti ebraici dell'Europa centro-orientale. Sono stato in sinagoghe e cimiteri ebraici in tutta la regione: in Slovacchia, Ungheria, Polonia, Ucraina, Romania, quindi vedo e presento l'eredità ebraica ungherese in un contesto più ampio con una comprensione approfondita dell'argomento.

Una delle principali sinagoghe, costruita da Otto Wagner nel 1870, splendidamente ristrutturata negli ultimi anni.

Una sinagoga importante e bella e interessante come edificio, costruita dai fratelli Löffler nel 1912 in stile Art Nouveau.
Passando da Piazza Klauzál, che faceva parte del Ghetto durante la seconda guerra mondiale
Concluderemo il tour alla Sinagoga di via Dohány, discutendo brevemente la sua importanza.

The guide was very detailed & as a non Jew I learn a lot about the people & religion. Visiting 2 Synagogs was particular interesting & I now understand the religion more.
Daniel received us on time as agreed. It was a very nice and above all interesting walk through the Jewish Quarter, visiting the synagogue . I was the only one on this tour so I had the opportunity to ask many questions. Unfortunately the synagogues were closed for a holiday so we couldn’t go in but the guide had photos of the interiors. My goal was to see parts of the city that I would not have seen on my own and that goal was accomplished. I learned quite a bit about Jewish history in Budapest.
