Visitiamo il Museo Langa Dompas nel cuore della Langa che offre ai visitatori un toccante omaggio agli eroi e alle vittime dell'apartheid. Questo gioiello storico si trova nel cuore della cittadina ed è stato istituito per commemorare il suo centenario. Gli uffici, un tempo famigerati, dell'Amministrazione degli Affari Bantu ora servono come testimonianza della resilienza dello spirito umano e un importante ricordo del passato. Visitiamo anche i Langa Old Flats che furono costruiti nel 1944 come ostelli dello stesso sesso per i lavoratori migranti , ora abitato da famiglie.Langa HostelsCostruiti per gli uomini durante l'era dell'apartheid, ora ospitano molte famiglie, in alcuni casi tre in una casa.
La nostra prossima tappa sarà il Centro artistico e culturale Guga S'Thebe nel comune di Langa, che offre 1. Formazione artistica e culturale: il centro offre formazione in varie forme d'arte, come lavorazione dei metalli, ceramica, danza, arti e mestieri, danza tradizionale, formazione corale, musica e poesia. 2.Teatro comunitario: il centro dispone di un teatro comunitario dove i gruppi locali possono mettere in scena spettacoli. Negozio di arti e artigianato: il centro dispone di un negozio che vende arti e mestieri locali. Il centro offre servizi di contabilità e segreteria per piccoli imprenditori e imprese locali. Il centro fornisce supporto e risorse agli imprenditori locali e alle piccole imprese per avviare e far crescere le loro iniziative. Il centro mira ad affrontare la disoccupazione nella comunità fornendo formazione e sostegno ai locali imprenditori e piccole imprese.

Amazing tour. Kazi was a wonderful tour guide with a lot of knowledge. The community was very welcoming, kind and talkative. Great experience.
Namhla has such an entertaining and sincere way of letting tourist see the real South African life. Staying in Green- Sea point or Waterfront you’re in a bubble but you run into people whom are living in the townships everyday. This tour was such an inspiring message. Namhla shared the gritty but also the hopeful aspects of living in a township. She wove the history of SA and the apartheids regime into the affects on modern day life. Do yourself a favor and go on this township tour and step outside the bubble!

Cape Town is a truly stunning city but to understand what moves the city, you have to experience a township tour with someone who is deeply rooted in the township community. Chippa was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, respectful of the community and with a desire to help others understand that a township is not what it appears to be from the outside. He shared the history of townships and brought us into the present with a glimpse into the future. It was safe, eye-opening, educational and truly gives you a newfound perspective. I would higly recommend this to anyone visiting Cape Town - whether you are travelling solo or in a group. A Langa township tour with Chippa will stay with you for a long time.
The trip was fabulous, informative, educational and the community were very generous in sharing their lives with us. It was a privilege to meet people from the community and to learn about their creativity and entrepreneurial ship in creating a better life for themselves , their families and their community.
