Scopri fatti inaspettati sul parco pubblico più antico degli Stati Uniti (1634). Il parco fa parte della Collana di Smeraldi: questo nastro verde è composto da 6 parchi. Ci fermeremo a Telegraph Hill, la storica collina associata alla fondazione della città. Il parco è stato testimone di grandi momenti della storia americana. Ospita numerosi monumenti come il Memoriale del massacro di Boston, il Grande olmo e il Monumento ai soldati e ai marinai. È qui che inizia il famoso Freedom Trail di Boston.
Un bassorilievo in bronzo – una grande opera d'arte eseguita dallo scultore Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
È un vero gioiello architettonico. Costruito alla fine del XVIII secolo dall'architetto americano Bullfinch, questo edificio dalla cupola dorata, in stile federale, domina Beacon Hill.
Vecchio Municipio del 1865, un bellissimo edificio in stile Secondo Impero francese (stile Napoleone III, come l'Opera Garnier di Parigi). L'Old City Hall di Boston ospitò il consiglio comunale dal 1865 al 1969.
Old Corner Bookstore, costruita nel 1718, la Old Corner Bookstore si trova nel più antico edificio commerciale nel centro di Boston. Questa casa editrice del XIX secolo pubblicò numerosi classici americani famosi.
Costruita nel 1729, questa ex chiesa puritana fu un luogo di ritrovo per quasi tre secoli.
La Old State House, del 1713, circondata da edifici moderni, sembra congelata nel tempo. Il 18 luglio 1776 da questo balcone fu letto il testo della Dichiarazione di Indipendenza degli Stati Uniti.
Fu di fronte a questo edificio pubblico che uno squadrone dell'esercito britannico aprì il fuoco e uccise cinque bostoniani nel 1770. Questo incidente fu chiamato il massacro di Boston.
1741: La Culla della Libertà, un bellissimo edificio storico con una banderuola dorata a forma di enorme cavalletta. Questa cavalletta divenne il primo e più famoso simbolo di Boston.
Quincy Market, 1824, un ex mercato, oggi Food Court, un vicolo pieno di bancarelle e negozi, un vero gioiello architettonico.
Il ristorante più antico degli Stati Uniti (1826) situato in un edificio storico (1704). Il futuro re di Francia, Luigi Filippo, visse in questa casa in un modesto appartamento al secondo piano.
Dietro l'hotel Bostonian ci sono diverse vecchie strade pedonali. Il blocco Blackstone è nell'elenco nazionale dei luoghi storici.
Il North End, letteralmente il quartiere settentrionale, è uno dei quartieri più antichi di Boston.
La Paul Revere House, 1676 – una delle ultime vestigia dell'era coloniale. Il famoso rivoluzionario visse lì dal 1780 al 1800.
Lo storico spazio pedonale in onore della famosa corsa di mezzanotte (1775)
La prima chiesa del North End fu costruita in questo sito nel 1650. Per tutto il periodo coloniale fu la chiesa più influente del Nordest e una roccaforte della fede puritana.
Copp's Hill, eretta nel 1632, è il punto più alto del North End di Boston. In cima a questa collina si trova un antico cimitero risalente al 1659. Da Copp's Hill Terrace si può ammirare un magnifico panorama del fiume Charles, nonché dell'obelisco di Bunker Hill e della USS Constitution sulla sponda opposta.

We had a wonderful guided tour to cover Boston downtown main sight seeings and secrets. My family does not speak English so it was very helpful. Maria was also keen to address all of our questions.i have been living here for 2 years but this tour gave a lot of perspective around the history and all the festivities. All information and comments were well documented. Maria is also such a lovely person. We had a great time and recommend warmly.
Maria takes us on a 2.5-hour journey through the fascinating history of the city of Boston. Her route allows us to discover key places in the city. The story she tells us includes such interesting anecdotes that we do not notice the time passing!

Maria knows Boston at her fingertips and knows how to interest everyone. I myself was with high school students, they learned a lot and appreciated Maria’s informed comments. An incredible walk along the path to freedom and through the picturesque neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and Back Bay. We had a great time, Masha introduced us to the history and anecdotes of the Freedom Trail. It was the second time I took a guided tour of Boston with her, and it will not be the last!
We had a great time during this visit with Maria. The explanations about Boston’s origins and history are very interesting and Maria knows how to embellish them with funny anecdotes. We were a small group of 9 people and the light headphones system made it possible to hear very well without Maria having to scream like other guides on the course. We had visited Beacon Hill the day before which is complementary because it is not part of the tour but its origin and the past of Beacon Hill is well explained also during the tour.
