Inizia in tarda mattinata nel cuore della città, nel famoso Duomo. La cattedrale gotica è ritenuta da molti una delle chiese più belle del mondo e la tua guida indicherà alcuni aspetti della sua imponente facciata. Ammira i suoi contrafforti volanti e la statua in bronzo dorato della "Madonnina" in cima alla guglia principale.
Prosegui per la Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II per una passeggiata attraverso le volte in vetro del maestoso porticato commerciale del XIX secolo. Spesso definita "Salotto di Milano" (il salotto di Milano), la galleria è circondata da boutique e caffetterie. Successivamente, vai a Piazza della Scala per un tour del leggendario Teatro alla Scala. Costruito nel 1776, il teatro ha ospitato alcuni dei più grandi musicisti del mondo, tra cui Giuseppe Verdi, Bellini, Rossini e Donizetti. Guarda il bellissimo auditorium a ferro di cavallo da una delle scatole della 4a fila.
Continua verso la nascosta Piazza dei Mercanti e goditi una breve tregua dalla folla mentre brividi all'illusione dello spazio del Bramante creato durante il Rinascimento. Passeggia nel cuore medievale di Milano fino al Castello Sforzesco, l'imponente fortezza degli ex duchi di Milano, e ora sede di molti dei migliori musei di Milano.

Our guide, Valeria, was superb. We concentrated on the Duomo, which really deserved all the time of the tour. The history of this magnificent cathedral is long and layered, so there was a lot of information. And we explored pretty much every nook and cranny - including ascending to the roof. There are many, many interesting facts and features - notably some historic figures are represented in the carvings that adorn the interior and exterior.
Laura our guide was brilliant. She is so knowledgeable and has a real knowledge of the history of Milan. We learnt so much about the buildings and the people from the past. La Scalia was jaw dropping place to visit

No, I am not a shopper. I could care less that Burbury, Fendi, Louis V, and every other luxury brand have stores here for the super-wealthy. However, as a public space, this is the place. It is beautiful and just steps away from two other Milan landmarks: Duomo and La Scala. (There are other lesser landmarks nearby such as Starbucks Reserve in an old Post Office nearby and worth a visit even if you hate coffee). The Milan walking tour didn't actually take us to the Galleria but pointed down the street to where it is. But go to the Galleria on your own and have a spritz and watch the crowd walk by.

Enjoyed a great walking tour of Milan with Vera. We visited the Duomo - inside and the rooftop. Vera was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. She showed us some of the highlights in the city center and also some hidden gems (University).
