This is a great way to be near the city, but yet feel as if you are far away. What a fun adventure! The views of LA were beautiful, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Plus my horse Jesse was just perfect!
Great experience, and the guides were so helpful and informative. I will definitely be coming back again.
Amazing experience that I would recommend for all to try. I was apprehensive and terrified of riding a horse on the mountain but the guides made us feel at ease and my horse was great. Good times and great memories. Thank you.
This was mine and my boyfriend’s first time in California. The experience was really nice and the staff were very welcoming. I have a fear of heights and it was my first time riding a horse, but it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. You are riding on the edge of the mountain, but it’s not a straight shot down, it’s more of a steep hill. They ran us through the basics of the horse riding very quickly and efficiently. All of the horses are well accustomed to the ride so it was a pleasant experience for a first time rider. Our guides, Ashley and Maddie, were very informative and friendly. They were even able to adjust my stirrups mid-ride for my comfort. You have to ride in a single file line, but they make sure they adjust you to be with family/friends right after you start the ride. The guides also snap photos of you and your family which was super cool.
Boys ages 11, 13, 15 loved it. Easy for older adults (me) Horses are well-behaved. Guides are excellent
So, first things first. Every person riding a horse has to wear a helmet. I've been riding A LOT at several other ranches, helmets were only ever required for minors. I was forced to wear a sweaty helmet from someone else because there weren't a lot of options in an XL size. Next, it is a walk only trail so if you're advanced or were hoping for some "trotting" or "galloping", it's not going to happen. We went at 10a and it was very hot. I brought a cowboy hat hoping for shade but wasn't allowed to wear it because of the helmet rule. We had 16 riders on our trail which is insane that they booked that much out! I was towards the end of the line and had a lot of dirt kicked in my face from the horses most of the ride. The guide even put a bandana on her face to shield hers. Bottom line, they were nice enough and the scenery was okay but I've had better rides elsewhere. If you're advanced or any of the above doesn't sit well with you, maybe look elsewhere. They definitely cater to beginners and that's their primary market.
Helpful and considerate staff, appropriate horses, some senic vistas, and an authentically dusty trail. I recommend buying a bandana before you start - $5 at the office.
Fun and horses were great. Very organized
This horseback experience was a great way to see the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory. The group leaders were supportive, reassuring and gave clear instructions for beginners like me and tips to the more experienced riders. You will need to walk uphill (moderate) for at least 5 minutes from the car park or about 20 minutes from the bus, with a sneak peak of the Hollywood sign on the approach.
So beautiful and serene. A very memorable experience! Totally worth it! The guides are extremely friendly, they are safety conscious, and the horses are incredible.
