Itinerario
Il tour inizia in Plaza de Zocodover, il cuore della città. Qui vi fornirò un'introduzione storica a Toledo, raccontandovi la sua importanza come capitale del Regno Visigoto e il suo affascinante mix di culture. Approfitteremo di questa piazza per collocarci nel contesto della città medievale e preparare così la strada per le tappe successive.
Da Zocodover, cammineremo fino all'Alcázar di Toledo, una fortezza che è stata testimone di numerosi eventi storici, tra cui la guerra civile spagnola. Qui vi parlerò della sua origine, del suo ruolo difensivo e di come si è evoluto nel corso dei secoli. Dalla spianata si gode anche di una vista spettacolare sulla città.
A questo punto, faremo una breve sosta davanti alla Chiesa dei Gesuiti, dove spiegherò la sua architettura barocca e la sua importanza storica a Toledo. Come per l'Alcazar, non entreremo all'interno, ma conoscerete la storia e il simbolismo dell'esterno.
Continuiamo il nostro viaggio verso la Chiesa di Santo Tomé, un eccezionale esempio di architettura mudéjar a Toledo. Sara shared a lot of local insight about Toledo, which helped us gain a much deeper understanding of its history and the most exciting parts of the city in an engaging way. The three-hour tour went by quickly—we didn’t want it to end.
