Not worth it.. tickets just to see a beach
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. This tour is more than just a boat ticket. It includes the round-trip boat, coordination of your transportation on Tokashiki Island, lunch, a carefully prepared schedule and consent form in your preferred language. Our office remains available in English, Korean, and Chinese to assist guests should any communication issues arise with our partners on the island. We understand that every traveler has different expectations, and we appreciate your comments as they help us continue improving our services.
Beautiful beach and nice weather. Snorkeling is worth doing with them; we saw turtles.
This was one of the worst organized tours I’ve done, and the most disappointing part was the lack of environmental care. The guide spotted a turtle, called everyone over, and continued chasing it, resulting in ~30 people crowding one animal, many kicking coral and stirring sand while it tried to escape. When I raised concerns, I was told “that’s how this tour goes.” Really disheartening to see wildlife treated this way, especially by professionals. Organization was poor, they went through attendance with names multiple times before even getting on the boat, over explaining basic instructions (I.e. where the bathroom is, say it once), lots of wasted time, and staff came across as rude. The experience also felt very controlled and restrictive. Mandatory life jackets (no exceptions) made it impossible to dive down and properly snorkel, even for confident swimmers. On top of that, it felt overpriced, and they insisted everyone pay extra for locker rentals that didn’t seem necessary.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially regarding organization and environmental concerns. First, regarding safety: in Okinawa, wearing a life jacket during snorkeling tours is mandatory by local regulations, with no exceptions. We clearly mention this requirement multiple times across all our booking platforms, as this tour is specifically designed to be safe and accessible for beginners. We understand that more experienced swimmers may feel restricted, and for guests looking for greater freedom (such as diving down), we usually recommend free diving tours that are better suited for that type of experience. Concerning the interaction with the turtle, we sincerely apologize if this felt uncomfortable. Protecting marine life is extremely important to us, and we do not encourage chasing or disturbing wildlife. We will address this seriously with our team to ensure that our guidelines are properly followed and that animals are respected at all times. Regarding organization and communication, your comments are very helpful. We sometimes repeat instructions and attendance checks to ensure everyone’s safety, especially in larger groups, but we understand how this may feel excessive and time-consuming. We will review our procedures to improve efficiency and overall guest experience. As for the locker rental, it is optional, but we recommend it for the safety of personal belongings. We’re sorry if this was not communicated clearly. We truly appreciate your honest feedback—it helps us improve—and we regret that this experience did not reflect the quality we aim to provide.
We booked this full day tour without realizing it is mainly geared towards beginners. The guides do not let you swim around and explore on your own. The guides pull a plastic floating bar into the water (beach entry snorkeling) and you are required to stay behind the guide and only go where he/she goes. The reef at Tokashiki Island is severely bleached and the water clarity is not as good as in other parts of Okinawa. There were very few fish. We did see one turtle in shallow, opaque water. This was not a dazzling experience by any stretch of the imagination. We were also put off by the guide constantly asking us to pose for pictures and videos while we were trying to enjoy the snorkeling experience. But…what really bothered us was the draconian enforcement of the meeting time and the angry attitudes of the guides. In Japan apparently it is customary to show up 10-15 minutes early for any arranged meeting time. As Americans, we didn’t know this. We are extremely punctual people. After the free time at the beach we were to meet for the snorkeling portion of the tour at 1:40 and this was written on everybody’s wristband. The verbal AND written instructions stated “tour time is indicated on your wristband. We ask that you arrive at the meeting place BY THEN.” We approached the meeting point at exactly 1:37 to find the guide (bald man with glasses) loudly yelling at us and chastising us for being late. “Let’s go, come on! You are late! Everyone is waiting for you! You need to be here earlier!“. I flashed my phone to show him we were three minutes early but it made no difference. Another female guide (otoko ppoi onna) then came over and started berating us for being late. Please note: we were not late and the group did not depart for another 20 minutes after we arrived. We were extremely offended and embarrassed at being treated this way. Furthermore, several people arrived 10-15 minutes later than we did; they were chastised as well. After all this, total time snorkeling was at or under one hour for a tour that departed at 9:20AM and returned after 4PM. Overall it was a rather poor experience. Maybe if you have never once snorkeled it would be OK for you but we do not recommend this tour or this company.
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our snorkeling tour is designed to be safe and enjoyable for guests of all experience levels. For safety reasons, all participants are required to remain with the guide throughout the snorkeling session. This procedure is part of our standard operating policy and helps us ensure the safety of every guest, regardless of their swimming ability or snorkeling experience. We're also sorry that you were disappointed by the reef conditions and marine life. As these are natural environments, visibility, coral conditions, and wildlife sightings can vary from day to day and are unfortunately beyond our control. Regarding the photos and videos, they are offered as a complimentary service to help guests keep memories of their trip. We appreciate your feedback and will remind our staff to be mindful of guests who prefer to simply enjoy the experience. We sincerely apologize if our staff's communication regarding the meeting time came across as rude or made you feel uncomfortable. That is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have. While we ask guests to arrive a few minutes before the scheduled meeting time so activities can begin smoothly, our team should always communicate this politely and respectfully. We will share your comments with our staff to help improve our service. Thank you again for your feedback. We value your comments and will use them to continue improving the experience we provide.
Great experience and everything was perfectly arranged. Beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. We saw a turtle and a lot of different fish! Only suggestion what I might have is going 30 min earlier to the diving spot and give people a bit more time to swim a bit around on themselves. Other than that everything was great fun.
Best way to see Tokashiki Island. No need to worry about buying ferry tickets or figuring out how to get to the beach once on the island. You spend just the right amount of time to swim or snorkel and see the surrounding area. One advice: take meds if you get seasick from boats; water can get choppy during certain parts of the year.
Very nice experience, we had the chance to swim with two turtles. The staff was very friendly and provided us with everything we needed.
One of the best tours I have taken. Even though it was a cloudy day, the island was truly beautiful, and we were lucky enough to see three sea turtles. The staff were very friendly, and the transportation service was also excellent. Highly recommended!
The island is superb, the beach exceptional and the meal very good and hearty. Possibility to rent umbrella on site, I recommend
The dive is well supervised, the island is beautiful, the beach exceptional and the meal very good and hearty
