The tour was top-notch. Even for non-wine drinkers, it is a real experience. Very interesting and recommendable!
We were of party of 7 booked on the guided tour at 16.00 on 29.04.2026. This was a birthday surprise for one of us, we were in good spirits and looking forward to the afternoon. The guide seemed in a hurry and didn't like to answer questions in some rooms, telling us to ask questions in the next room. She kept repeating that some rooms could be rented for an event, and that we should take photos. We were also told off like school children, for turning to the wrong door to exit the wine cellar. There were posters with Wine & Sex all over the place, and we were giggling amongst ourselves about this. The guide complained afterwards that we were ridiculing her, which was not at all the case. She deserves a 1 point rating, she really came across that she did not like her job. In contrast, the wine tasting afterwards was a pleasure, the young sommelier loved and knew his job, he was also very entertaining and we learned quite a lot from him, and very much enjoyed the nice wines and cheeses. He deserves a 5 point rating.
The tour was great. I really enjoyed it. It was my first time at a winery so I learnt a lot. Wine was beautiful. Setting is stunning. Highly recommend. They also have their own beer! Get a taxi from Puerto De La Cruz! I think it would be a walk with a significant climb if you were relying on public transport
The bodega is located after a winding road up to a beautiful terrain with a nice view of the ocean and surrounding vineyards.
The driver was pleasant and friendly The drive was smooth and safe Quite entertaining too Bravo
The history of the winery was interesting & great to see how the new generations have progressed the business. The tour guide was very knowledgeable & spoke very well. The wine tasting was towards the end and the cheese and wine were nice. Only 4 wines but nice tasting. Something that isn’t advertised is that the winery is also used for erotic party’s & there are sex toys and other sex objects throughout the premises. Not family friendly.
Today we were at a wine tasting. The vineyard is in the middle of the vineyards. We were greeted by a friendly staff. We first had a round in the plant, and then a tasting round with three different wines with associated cheese. First a white wine, then a rosé wine and finally a red wine. All right all three. The wines were young, and they confirmed that they did not produce wines for storage. In one cellar entrance had several large wooden barrels (no oak for it is not found on the Canary Islands, but an old one they had - it was from Cuba). Someone was full of wine. Later down there was a modern wine production plant. We bought some bottles. Nice place
On arrival the tasting tables were laid out with our names, the table allocated to us was by the window with lovely views. The tour was good. When we returned for our wines and cheese tasting our names were moved to a wall table at the entrance, opposite the toilet away from the group. I explained that were allocated the table by the window and asked if we could move as people were queuing for the toilet and she said there was no room to move or we could sit outside. It appears that they put a 3 people, separate group from us who had a personal tasting. We couldn’t even hear the explanation of the wine as she had her back to us as she was talking to the group on the large table, wines were average and the overall experience was disappointing . We paid good money and booked in advance but was separated from the tour, so I would nt return
A really insightful and interesting experience - the guide and staff were excellent as was the wine and cheese
I gave it a four because we felt the time between wine servings was a bit lengthy for us. (The bridesmaid party with us, seemed to find it perfect.) Caleb was a charming, informative guide; giving us Monje’s winery tour and history. The winery was quite different from others we have toured, so we enjoyed that experience! What we found a bit difficult to understand is how to get there from our cruise ship. We negotiated with a local taxi driver to wait for us. The travel cost ended up equaling the tour cost… (So, you might want to research this issue ahead of time!) What might have been an awesome addition is having lunch at the restaurant afterward…but you needed to make a reservation ahead…the cheeses that they served with the wines were excellent, but we would have enjoyed a bit of local bread or crackers with them. We were glad that we went!
