We toured the Temple - at the magic hour for the nightime ritual. thank goodness we had our tour guide, the site is incredibly complex and our guide did a great job navigating. We would not have enjoyed just simply touring alone - thank you!

Visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic was one of the most special moments of our trip. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what to see and the best timing to experience the morning puja, which made a huge difference. The ceremony itself was deeply moving, with chanting, drumming and offerings creating a powerful spiritual atmosphere. A beautiful, well-organised and unforgettable experience — highly recommended.

The temple complex is beautifully designed, combining Kandyan-style architecture with intricate wood carvings, stonework, and golden decorations. The inner sanctum where the tooth is kept is very ornate, but photography is not allowed inside. The temple has a peaceful courtyard, bell towers, and a pond, giving a serene feeling even amidst crowds.

Unfortunately we got caught up in traffic getting to the temple but our guide had waited for us. This was on a Saturday, not sure if it’s busier but you need plenty of time to get into city and park. The temple itself was busy but everyone was able to get round. The guide was very friendly and informative of the temple and it’s history. Could have stayed a bit longer as it was very peaceful but understand that there has to be a time limit on the tour.

An amazing experience with our guide Sampath who helped us navigate the crowds and imparted all his knowledge to us. The temple is beautiful and the 9.30 ceremony worth getting up early for.

The Temple of the Tooth Relic is stunning and filled with history. The temple itself is beautiful, and our guide’s knowledge really enhanced the visit, helping us navigate the crowds and understand the significance. We attended the 6 pm ceremony, which was atmospheric but very busy. One downside was that we had to wait inside the temple for quite a while while the guide went to collect another couple who were late, which interrupted the tour. Also, it’s worth noting that it’s much cheaper to buy the tickets directly rather than through a tour. Overall, a must-see in Sri Lanka, but plan ahead for crowds and consider arranging tickets yourself.

Booked through Viator, prior to our trip. We ended up at the organization Lakpura. The visit could not go better. The guide Sampath was waiting for us at the entrance for the agreed time. We got a detailed explanation of the most important things, were on time at the ceremony and were the first at the doors that opened at a certain moment. That way we would have seen everything in no time, while other people stood in a (long) line. Great organizers, great guide. Highly recommended!

Tour was great and Sampath our tour guide was excellent. We were updated by Lakpura (tour co.) who our driver, guide and times would be. Another excellent and smooth running tour with lovely drivers and guides by Lakpura. Highly recommend!

We could not make the visit as the guide asked for cancellation due a too big attendance, despite our confirmed tickets, paid in advance. I am waiting for the reimbursment
