Tanah Lot significa "Terra [nel] Mare" in lingua balinese. Situato a Tabanan, a circa 20 chilometri (12 miglia) da Denpasar, il tempio si trova su una grande roccia al largo che è stata modellata continuamente nel corso degli anni dalla marea oceanica. Il tempio di Tanah Lot è stato costruito e fa parte della mitologia balinese da secoli. Il tempio è uno dei sette templi marini lungo la costa balinese. Ciascuno dei templi del mare è stato stabilito alla vista del successivo per formare una catena lungo la costa sud-occidentale. Il tempio di Taman Ayun si traduce letteralmente come "bellissimo giardino" ed è generalmente considerato uno dei templi più attraenti di Bali. Il tempio Taman Ayun è situato in un bellissimo parco con alberi e stagni vicino al villaggio di Mengwi nel sud di Bali, a circa 8 km a sud-ovest di Ubud e 18 km a nord-ovest di Denpasar. Pura Taman Ayun fu costruita nel 1634 dal Raja di Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. È un cosiddetto Pura Kawiten, o tempio di famiglia, un tempio speciale dove vengono onorati gli antenati divinizzati della dinastia Raja di Mengwi e importanti divinità di altri templi.

The driver/guide, Nik was very tentative on what we needed, on time, guided us through the sights, waited patiently for us to take all those beautiful photos of the temples. We had a wonderful time, although the traffic was bad and it was cloudy no dramatic sunset. We highly recommend this tour and Nik as your guide.

Nik was able to weave his way thru the heavy Bali traffic, made worse by road and bridge closures after the recent deadly floods, and get us to both temples with plenty of time to enjoy them. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to a coffee plantation - well done Nik! The temples were peaceful and quiet and filled us with a sense of calm and serenity. Well worth the visit.

Well worth the trip! We were picked up directly from our villa in Seminyak. Putu our guide/driver was early, and did an excellent job of getting us safely through the traffic! Putu accompanied us at all times, sharing his knowledge of the history and traditions associated with both temples. The car was clean, with good air conditioning & free bottled water. Would definitely recommend to others.

Nyoman took us to Tanah Lot and Taman Ayun temples. Taman Ayun was quiet and beautiful; definitely a little off the beaten path but worth a visit if you have time. Tanah Lot was beautiful, especially if you can walk around the coastline area. It was a great afternoon excursion, and Nyoman took really great photos of us! He was really nice and communicated about the experience— it was great to have someone to take us around and get beautiful sunset pics!
