great seats. Too bad it rained prior to the dinner and show. It was muddy especially in the parking lot. Food was very American with a few Hawaiian dishes. Very good - pork, chicken and beef. The show was excellent. It was pretty long with a story in the mix.
Our family had an absolutely wonderful time, everything was well organized, enjoyable, and food was really good. The picture they took of us was one of our favorites of the whole trip. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and we felt it was absolutely worth the cost. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hawaii, especially first-time visitors looking for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the entire team for helping create such amazing memories for our family!
You will love the people and the experience! The entire show was fantastic. I love the way EVERYTHING was soooo organized. The line was very long to enter but that woman and her IPAD kick butt checking guests in. One in they directed you to your table. I loved just how organized everything was.
My family enjoyed learning about the culture while watching these talented performers! Highly recommend!
It was beautiful experience! The story they told was absolutely gorgeous. Food and staff were very nice.
The show was ok, but the food, drinks and service all were lacking. The drinks tasted like they had no alcohol . The food was horrible. This should cost less than $75 / person at the most, not over $200. Go elsewhere for your luau.
We have been to three different luaus in the Lahaina area in the past 5 years: The Drums of the Pacific would be my second choice. The Old Lahaina Luau is much better, nicer grounds, food brought to your table, better view of the show. The Drums of the Pacific has a buffet, which was fine, but although we were seated right next to it, we were dead last in the line. The food was fine but not as good as the Old Lahaina Luau. The last choice luau for me would be The Royal Lahaina luau.
The website states that the show starts at 5:30. My friends and I arrived early to make sure we would not have to stand in line to get. Even after arriving at 4:30, 5:15 was when they started checking your name /reservation in which we were given an assigned table. They did not let people in until nearly 6p. We were expecting to be seating at 5:15, not the case, we still had to stand and wait before they begin letting people in. If you had a VIP reservation, those people were permitted to go in first. We reserved our tickets on line and did not see the option for VIP seating. A few minutes into the show it started misting then raining, not to mention the high winds. The food was cold due to the high winds the burners that could have kept the food warm did not. It rained so much the staff started handing out ponchos. People were leaving while the show continued to go on. It was a great disappointment to have paid over $200, for cold food, rain and having to stand nearly an hour because the show did not start the time it displayed on the website. The weather can't be controlled, but having a plan to keep the food warm, and letting people in early enough to at least sit down would have been helpful. There were seniors having a hard time standing with no place to sit. I would think that since Regency has done this show for decades, they would be prepared for any given situation with a back up plan. We were very disappointed and had high hopes for a great experience, that was not the case. This show came recommended and had great reviews. I am sure that will change after the May 24, 2026 show. A full refund would suffice.
I'm very disappointed I didn't take my family to the Lahaina Luau. It is so much better! Bigger, faster, flashier. My largest complaint was the extremely poor sound system at the Hyatt. My family was seated in the second row of tables, farthest left if looking at the stage. No one at our table could hear a single word that was being said ! I assume it was so informative? Ruined the entire night. Exactly like watching a movie with no sound. Staff was friendly enough. We had to ask for high chairs even though babies were listed in our group. Cocktails were pre-made and subpar. My 2 year old loved the drums.
The show was great! The food was mediocre, but that may just be my personal taste. The description is misleading, however. It describes poi ball lessons, coconut tree climbing, and coconut husking - did none of that, and those were some of the reasons I chose this luau - disappointing. The unearthing of the pig was barely noticeable and not as exciting as my kids expected - they actually didn't even realize it happened.
