Questo tour offre al viaggiatore una rara opportunità di visitare due attrazioni molto popolari che hanno contribuito in modo significativo al fatto che il Sudafrica sia la principale destinazione turistica africana. Ed è l'unica delle nuove sette meraviglie della natura in una città non c'è da stupirsi perché oltre 1 161 206 visitatori hanno visitato questo paesaggio iconico (come da Statistiche 2018/19).

Robben Island è un'isola a Table Bay - Città del Capo. Fu chiamato dall'olandese Robben Island e gli inglesi l'avevano chiamata Seal Island. Fu usato come stazione di quarantena per animali, come colonia di lebbrosi e per l'isolamento di prigionieri principalmente politici. Ad oggi, tre ex detenuti dell'isola di Robben sono diventati presidente del Sudafrica, Nelson Mandela, Kgalema Motlanthe e Jacob Zuma. Robben Island è stata dichiarata patrimonio dell'umanità dall'Unesco nel 1999 e offre tour giornalieri. Il tour di questo sito patrimonio dell'umanità inizia al Nelson Mandela Gateway presso il V&A Waterfront. Dopo il prelievo dal tuo hotel a Città del Capo, verrai condotto al V&A Waterfront, dove salirai a bordo del traghetto per Robben Island fino al famoso luogo di detenzione di Nelson Mandela per 18 dei suoi 27 anni. Questo posto soprannominato "Alcatraz del Sudafrica" è servito da lebbrosario, luogo di isolamento, esilio e prigionia. L'isola è un promemoria dello stato delle dure condizioni subite come ricompensa per la libertà dal governo dell'apartheid. Dopo il tour storico, emotivo, educativo e informativo che viene condotto da ex guardiani della prigione o ex prigionieri dell'isola di Robben, sali a bordo del traghetto per tornare al Waterfront.

Avrai anche la possibilità di provare i famosi braai sudafricani (barbecue) e piatti al curry malese per i quali i ristoranti di Città del Capo sono famosi.
Dopo pranzo, proseguirai per Table Mountain, che è stata recentemente votata come una delle 7 meraviglie naturali del mondo. Quindi sali sulla funivia che ti porta in cima a Table Mountain (un giro di 3 minuti di viste magnifiche mentre la funivia ruota verso la cima). Goditi le viste maestose dalla cima di Mother City e la costa atlantica con le sue spiagge di classe mondiale. Dopo aver trascorso un po 'di tempo in cima alla Table Mountain, salti sulla funivia che ti porta alla stazione ai piedi della montagna.

My wife and I spent the third day of our visit to Cape Town with Remmy of RAW Tours. We visited both the Robben Island Prison Museum and Table Mountain. Remmy was extremely informative and compelling about the history of South Africa and specifically about Cape Town. He handled all the details our tour visits. The trip to Robben Island is worth the visit. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant for us to see great views from Table Mountain and that’s just how it is. Remmy was very friendly, professional and full of knowledge. If you’re on a tight budget, I recommend doing this on your own. You’ll come out much cheaper getting your own tickets to the attractions and taking an Uber.

We booked and paid this tour for a specific date ( the day after) just to be told by the operator a few hours later that they don’t have tickets for Robben Island for that date and that the cable car to Table Mountain was not operating on that date because of maintenance. We had to deal with receiving the refund from Viator ourselves. They could have saved the disappointment and hassle by not selling tickets to a tour they could not give.
Hi With all due respect all what you are saying is true. But take into consideration the fact that you booked a day before the tour for an attraction like Robben Island - a world heritage site. You do not get any tickets that close to Robben Island during that period you booked. It also was during the Netball World Cup and Robben Island tickets were sold out more than a weeks in advance. This was the first time that Cape Town has hosted the Netball world Cup and as such no one would have been able to predict the turnout. And as for Table Mountain communication was send to all those who had bought tickets online assuming you had booked in advance and we had bought you a ticket things could have been different. But since you booked a day before notice was already out that Table Mountain would be closed for annual shutdown maintenance. All these events and attractions are totally out of our control considering how they work. We sincerely apologize for the missed opportunity to visit these two world class attractions and would urge you to book again in time so you can enjoy the experience.
Anyone visiting Cape Town should take the opportunity to visit where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, very moving. Our guide was a prisoner here with Mandela and he explained what life was like during the time he was there. Unfortunately for us the weather changed and we couldn’t go up the mountain, looked ok but when you reach the top the wind is very dangerous, there’s always next time. Highly recommended.

What a great experience from this tour. I did not know much about Robben Island and that there were other prisoners who were imprisoned there longer than Nelson Mandela. This is one of the best tours I have done. After that we were taken to Table Mountain in a clean and neat van. This is a well arranged tour. Will definitely do more tours with Raw Tours.
