DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY FOR TOURS As a party of 5 we purchase 2 tours on Johannesburg and were offer free transfers. There tours were Johannesburg and the food tour. The 2 trips were a disaster and despite promises of a full refund we have not received it after 3 months with excuses such as the bank has lost it and it’s not my job to do this Day 1 1. Romeo our guide picked us up with another person in the passenger seat and offered no explanation of what was due to happen 2. He dropped what now appeared to be a friend off at work extending our journey into the city by 30minutes 3. We arrived at the apartheid museum with the explanation I will pick you up in 3 hours. Nothing further was added 4. Outside the next museum we asked him some questions and were promised he would look these up but never did 5. In Seweto he dropped us of and then moved the bus without telling us leaving us roaming Seweto on our own until he found us 6. His driving through was erratic and one one occasion nearly cashed into an oncoming car. 7. He got lost on the way back to the hotel and requested to use our mobile phone data at a cost to us in South Africa as his phone had died 8. He offer a snack as agreed but due to his driving nobody felt well enough to eat 9 he got lost searching for a mining museum 10. The vehicle needed a jump start DAY 2 NEVER TURNED UP until 2 hours after pickup Since returning the apparent CEO has promised a refund and has sacked Romeo but has name still appears on reviews. There has been numerous excuses for the refund but after 3 months I am still waiting IN SUMMARY Dishonest, unprofessional, poor communication and put travellers at risk DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY
Very informative day tour with 2 great tour guides just for us (couple). Transfer directly from or to our hotel. Guide Bk knows a lot about the history of South Africa but also about current events. He has an interesting, relaxed narrative style so it never gets boring. He has an answer to every question. Guide Angela is a real treasure, she translated everything into German for us because our English is not good. Her German, on the other hand, is very good. A tour with locals is absolutely recommended, you get a different perspective on things. You don't see any misery on this tour, they try to show you the new, up-and-coming Johannesburg. Conclusion: a journey back in time with friends for a day.
This is the best experience I have had with a travel agency that was personalized to see Johannesburg and its surrounding attraction. This tour was personalized: Johannesburg, Soweto, Apartheid Museum, Hector Pietson Museum, Mandela House, Maboneng, Cradle to Human life, Constitution Hill, Local food tasting recommendations and the best of it all transportation from and back to the Airport. Thank you Tye for being a great communicator and coordinating out travel arrangements and connecting us to our Tour guide the best one: Mdu. Mdu was the best with great customer service, throughly explained the history of South Africa and the cultural and way of life for South Africans. Mdu made us feel comfortable and safe the whole time he even went above and beyond to make sure we made it to the airport after finding out we were on the wrong airport. I would highly recommend Honest Travel don’t hesitate you are in good hands for the best vacation. Their communication and efficacy is on point. Thank you Mdu for giving us the best tour and helping us create beautiful memories and thanks for being patient and understanding. Mdu is now a friend to the entire family. Honest Travel is the best and Thank you. I
We had a great private walking tour in Johannesburg and Soweto with those guys. They did a great job and arranged the tour very spontaneously according to our needs and wishes. We had a local experience for a very fair price. Afterwards they showed us local pubs which were pretty cool as well. I'm sure there's no better option for spending a day in Joburg. Just contact them via WhatsApp and tell them what you want :)
Had a great time, I don’t think I could have had a similar experience if I tried it alone. They team was a lot of fun!
This was an awesome weekend getaway experience for my partner and I, getting to see the true beauty of Johannesburg. From the scenery to the scooter rides that allowed our inner child to live a little it was all unforgettable and totally worth it. A big Thank you to our knowledgeable and a real people's person tour guide Tye, you took the experience to the next level.
Rediscovering Johannesburg in the way you guys do it is totally excellent and I didn't expect the electric scooters as a part of it.. totally worth my time..I look forward to trying a different tour..my wife was over the moon about it.
Very disappointing. We booked a bycle tour and received barely functional bikes that are quite uncomfortable for anyone taller than 1,6m. We did only one one the items mentioned on the online itinerary and our guide was not very knowledgeable about Johannesburg.
Hi Jessica, Hope you are well. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with us. I have sent you an email replying to your review. Once again I'm sorry.
Stepping out on top of Jo’burg feeling like a Queen of our African garden! It was awesome to dance till sunset - loved every moment esp the guys hosting. They were attentive, supportive and we had a jol!!
Had a great time on Cape Town's Seapoint promenade! What a special experience! The guides were easygoing and friendly. The scooter was an absolute blast!
