Il Castello di Windsor (ingresso facoltativo) è la casa ancestrale della monarchia britannica e il più grande castello occupato del mondo. Mentre cammini per gli impressionanti terreni, è quasi difficile credere che i re e le regine che si sono succeduti vivano qui da oltre 900 anni. Vedrai perché questo bellissimo castello era una residenza preferita dei fine settimana della regina Elisabetta II. All'interno degli Appartamenti di Stato, avrete la possibilità di esplorare le stesse stanze utilizzate oggi dal Re e dai membri della Famiglia Reale. Le stanze qui erano destinate a rivaleggiare con la Reggia di Versailles in Francia, e dipinti di artisti famosi come Rembrandt adornano le pareti. Gli ospiti che scelgono l'opzione di entrare nel Castello possono anche vedere la Cappella di San Giorgio, teatro di alcuni dei più famosi matrimoni reali degli ultimi tempi tra cui il Duca e la Duchessa di Sussex e S.A.R. la Principessa Eugenie e Mr Jack Brooksbank. All'interno della Cappella si trovano le tombe di 11 monarchi, tra cui la regina Elisabetta II, Giorgio VI, Enrico VIII e Carlo I.

Very informative and enjoyable. Little disappointed not being able to take pictures inside Windsor Palace and St Michel’s Church—did get a lot outside though!
Godfrey was great! Very knowledgeable about the history of the places we went to, and he made it enjoyable. Wished we knew Windsor Castle was closed on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. But otherwise great service!
Nice trip and our guide Mel was very informative and funny. There is a lot of uphill walking so be prepared.
