Pochi turisti vengono in Mongolia senza visitare il suo punto di riferimento più iconico, una scintillante statua d'argento di Chinggis Khaan alta 40 metri. Costruito nel 2008 in acciaio inossidabile, la drammatica statua, costruita con fondi privati, ha un ascensore che sale sulla sua coda, da dove ci sono dei gradini verso la testa del cavallo. Fu costruito qui, quindi la leggenda narra, perché questo era il punto in cui Chinggis Khaan trovò una frusta d'oro.
Il complesso comprende un museo impressionante (con manufatti Hunnu e oggetti dell'impero mongolo), un caffè e un negozio di souvenir. Un cortometraggio descrive come fu costruito il monumento. Per un T3000 extra puoi indossare l'armatura di Chinggis Khaan per un servizio fotografico di fronte a un enorme stivale mongolo, alto 9 metri. C'è anche un alloggio per ger, se per qualche motivo vuoi restare la notte. Si trova appena fuori dalla strada principale tra Nalaikh ed Erdene, in un posto chiamato Tsonjin Boldog. Un viaggio di andata e ritorno in taxi da Ulaanbaatar ti riporterà indietro di circa T80.000. In fondo alla strada si trova la statua della madre di Chinggis Khan, Hoelun, che guarda di nuovo suo figlio.
Il Parco Nazionale GORKHI-TERELJ è considerato uno dei luoghi più belli da visitare per i viaggiatori che volevano riposare nei dintorni di UB. Il centro di meditazione Aryaval è stato inaugurato nell'estate 2006 dopo molti anni di costruzione. Si trova all’interno del Parco Nazionale di Gorkhi-Terelj, a circa 10 chilometri dall’ingresso. Dalla roccia della tartaruga, si può fare una piacevole escursione (circa 45 minuti). Situato sul fianco di una montagna coperta di larici e roccia granitica, il centro di meditazione Aryaval delizierà i viaggiatori. Per raggiungere il tempio, dovrete passare un piccolo ponte di legno sul quale un cartello dice :”il ponte che conduce oltre la saggezza”. Il tempio principale è dedicato alla filosofia del Kalachakra, ”ruota del tempo”. Il tempio contiene un thangka che rappresenta il mito dello Shambhala (un thangka è un dipinto su cotone o seta; Shambhala è, secondo la filosofia buddista, un luogo favoloso nascosto da qualche parte in Asia), un mandala Kalachakra e altri oggetti legati a questa credenza. Al piano terra di questo edificio, si può ammirare una “galleria di filosofia buddista”, con 220 dipinti originali dell’artista.

Highly recommend this tour! The guides were super helpful and nice. We visited all the attractions on the itinerary. Beautiful scenery, and really something everyone should do! At first, I was having trouble finding guides that were reasonably priced, and I'd say this one def was! So definitely a good value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. SUPER NICE GUIDES that will take pics of u and help u pose (for those that dont know how to).
A truly interesting excursion with a total of 11 participants from 7 countries. Everything was perfect, the two guides were friendly and always helpful. The only downside is that Ulaanbaatar is an absolute traffic nightmare. I have rarely seen such a congested metropolis, but of course, the organizer cannot be blamed for that; we must have spent a total of 2-3 hours in various traffic jams.
Visiting the statue was not just about seeing the artwork; it was a complete cultural experience. I booked the tour with Amazing Mongolia. My guide, degi, was excellent—his English is perfect, and his passion for Mongolian history brought the giant steel statue to life.
My friends and I booked a one-day tour and it exceeded all expectations! The itinerary covered all the must-see attractions and included a delightful experience of tasting local Mongolian cuisine. A special shoutout goes to our guide, who also expertly handled the driving duties. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and he shared fascinating insights into Chinggis Khaan and Mongolian history. His passion for the subject truly shone through, making the trip not only enjoyable but also educational. This tour was worth every moment and I can't recommend it highly enough. This trip was certainly one for the memory bank. Amazing statue and museum. Our guide was super passionate and brought enthusiasm in his presentation. He really made the tour more interesting and brought the Mongolian history to life with his great attitude. The national park/turtle rock was OK but the highlight was the statue. Lunch was traditional and nice, again the guide's attitude made the day fun. Comfortable van to travel in and a small group was great. Only downside was the expensive souvenir shop - but that's nothing to do with the tour operator.
This was an awesome tour! Our guide, Bayur, is an incredible storyteller. He made the history of Mongolia come to live by describing events, important people and battles in vivid detail. It was a lot of fun. He was also very patient and a good driver. At the end of our tour, we had trouble locating our lodging. He offered to stay with us until we found where we were going. It was a nice very nice gesture. I highly recommend anyone who visits Mongolia to get the tour with him. You'll never forget your experience.
