Al suo apice questa stazione ferroviaria vide oltre 40.000 persone al giorno mentre si dirigevano verso i bar, i casinò e i bordelli di Galveston. Un ingegnere di nome William Watson avrebbe intrattenuto le folle di passaggio facendo dei cavalletti sulla guardia del bestiame dei motori. Un giorno sfortunato si è SLIPPATO ed è stato immediatamente decapitato. Un cappello derby era ancora saldamente seduto sulla testa che trovarono A MILE LONTANO!

Un soldato della guerra civile marcia su e giù nella hall di fronte a tutti per vedere. Un ragazzino che gioca nell'hotel dice di essere il fantasma di un bambino investito fuori dall'hotel. Un fantasma utile può anche disimballare per te!
Charles F. Coghlan, un famoso attore britannico, salpò per Galveston per onorare il palcoscenico del Grand Opera House. Ma il povero Charles morì prima che il sipario fosse mai alzato. Che cosa fare del corpo di questo illustre visitatore? In attesa della risposta THE GREAT STORM ha demolito l'isola e portato in mare la bara di Charles. Not sure if I believe all the stories told, but we had a great tour guide (Thomas). The tour was also not too taxing for older folks; plenty of stops where you could take a seat for a few minutes.

Thomas was an excellent guide. His presentation was engaging with so much detail about Galveston’s history and development as a city in the 1800’s. Their port was a critical part of their businesses and for a while Galveston was the capital of Texas. But when the 1900 storm hit Galveston, it devastated the city and changed its future. The worst natural disaster ever in the U.S. Thomas told us about the long recovery of Galveston and that ghosts are part of their city. One fascinating fact after another throughout the tour! I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of history, thomas was very knowledgeable. Interesting ghost stories. He even took more time with us. He pointed out various buildings and definitely captured your attention.

Thomas led a great tour! He gave great bits of history while telling us stories of some of the more notable spirits all while being fun and telling jokes. The tour was a great way to get to know the island a little better on our first night.

Took my daughter and a group of her friends on this tour for her 18th birthday. Thomas was very informative and kept everyone interested and entertained throughout the tour, which is not an easy thing to do with teenagers. Even though we are locals we learned lots of things about the island we never knew. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a fun evening Thomas!
