Trogir è una città patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO nota per il suo bellissimo mix di storia e fascino. Fondata più di 2000 anni fa, ha visto Greci, Romani e Veneziani lasciare il segno. Il centro storico si trova su una piccola isola, collegata da ponti, ed è perfetto per esplorare a piedi. Le sue strette strade in pietra, i cortili nascosti e le piccole piazze creano un'atmosfera speciale che sembra di tornare indietro nel tempo. Nel cuore di Trogir sorge la Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, famosa per il suo portale del XIII secolo scolpito dal Maestro Radovan. Il lungomare fiancheggiato da palme è un altro punto culminante, con caffè, barche e la Fortezza Kamerlengo che offre una splendida vista sul mare e sulla città. Anche se compatta, Trogir è davvero indimenticabile.
Il Palazzo di Diocleziano è il cuore di Spalato e uno dei monumenti romani più notevoli al mondo. Costruito intorno al 305 d.C. dall'imperatore romano Diocleziano come residenza di riposo, il palazzo è più simile a una piccola città che a un singolo edificio. Tra le sue imponenti mura troverai un labirinto di stradine strette, piazze vivaci e secoli di storia sovrapposti. Tra i luoghi da non perdere il Peristilio, un tempo cortile cerimoniale; la Cattedrale di San Domnio, originariamente mausoleo di Diocleziano; e le cantine sotterranee, che danno un'idea delle dimensioni originali del palazzo. Oggi il palazzo è ancora vivo, pieno di negozi, caffè e case. Camminare attraverso di esso sembra di entrare nella storia vivente – dove il passato romano incontra la vita quotidiana di Spalato.

Mario was a great guide. He was very flexible in showing us places and different things. The day was extremely hot (35°) which wasn’t helped by travelling in a minivan with broken air conditioning. Mario managed to change vehicles part way through the tour, but unfortunately it was a much smaller vehicle, meaning the last half of the tour was cramped. I feel the company let Mario down, as he did an excellent job.

Silvio is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He is very interested in his country’s history and his enthusiasm makes his information interesting. We enjoyed our day.

Had a great tour lead by Sanja. She was very kind and was able to tell us about the history of the city. She also spoke to us about Croatian culture, and gave us recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Silvio even though it was raining all day. We were shown the highlights of both cities. You could tell that Silvio was proud of his home city. He was full of useful information. Van was clean and comfortable.

Easy to find our tour guide Silvio as we walked out of the terminal. Delightful ride over to Trogir first and we beat the crowds and tour buses. Learning all the history and all that transpired there through the ages was totally fascinating. Our second stop was at the Diocletian Palace in Split. Having a small group (4) we covered a lot. Will definitely book with Viator again.

My friends and I had a fabulous time on Silvio's Split and Trogir tour. The tour from pick up to drop off was very well organized. I appreciated Silvio's entertaining stories about his country's people, places and history as he led us through the beautiful town of Trogir and then Diocletian's Palace in Split, first built for a Roman emperor but very much lived in today. And he recommended a great local spot for lunch. Highly recommend!
