Situato su un paesaggio idilliaco, questo raro fenomeno geologico è in attesa di essere scoperto, mentre le colonne del tempio di Poseidone si ergono con orgoglio sulla cima di una collina che domina il blu infinito del mare Egeo.

Itinerario
Durante il nostro tour pomeridiano attraverseremo alcuni dei sobborghi più panoramici di Atene, seguendo una strada costiera. La nostra prima tappa sarà al lago Vouliagmeni, il tesoro nascosto della "Riviera ateniese". In una posizione idilliaca, il lago è parte di un raro fenomeno geologico, essendosi rivelato dopo il crollo del tetto di una grotta, causato da un terremoto milioni di anni fa. Il lago Vouliagmeni ha una temperatura costante tutto l'anno, compresa tra 18 e 24 gradi Celsius, e la sua acqua è salmastra, poiché l'acqua del mare sotterraneo è mescolata con l'acqua di una sorgente. Questo lo rende un luogo ideale per i bagnanti che visitano il lago per approfittare delle sue acque, ricche di minerali. (Breve sosta: non c'è tempo per nuotare in questo tour)
Sounion, un imponente promontorio roccioso, è il punto più meridionale della regione dell'Attica. Si trova a ca. A 60 Km dal centro di Atene. È famoso soprattutto per il suo imponente antico Tempio di Poseidone e per la sua vista mozzafiato del tramonto, con vista sul Mar Egeo. Ammira gli splendidi colori del tramonto nel cielo, dal punto più alto della collina.

I messed up our tour dates and the tour company bent over backwards and saved the day. George was our driver and was excellent. The van was very comfortable. The Poseidon Temple at sunset should not be missed.

Magnificent sunset and great energy! The ocean view also stunning! Coffeeshop there good too! 1hr with bus and good views on the way there too.

Fantastic trip to Cape Sunion with a stop at the stunning Lake Vouliagmeni. Skilled and professional driver, with exelent knowledge about the area and Greec history. We chose to do another trip with the same driver the next day. We learned a lot about the area, took beautiful pictures, had a drink in the sunset at the bar nearby and felt safe in the car at all times. Highly recommended.

This was one of the best tours we did while in Greece. It was a magnificent drive along the coast of Athens, with a brief stopover at the Vouliagmeni Lake and then to the Poseidon Temple at Cape Sounion to watch the sunset. It was an amazing experience and worth every penny. The tour charges are reasonable and we travelled in a luxury Mercedes Viano. Thanks to our chaffeur and guide Alexander for driving us safely and showing us around with clear explanations and also showing some flexibility to show some additional spots en route. Thanks are also due to Aristotelis Dalitsikas of Private Best Travel who arranged for the tour and constantly kept in touch to ensure that everything went well. I would strongly recommend people visiting Athens to look them up and I am sure you wouldn't regret hiring their services.
