What better to do in a city of art & beauty than take some time to be creative yourself?! Guido was kind and friendly. The lesson was basic, the fundamentals of sketching & shading. The refresher was nice, but what I enjoyed the most was observing the lines and shadows of the gardens and spending a lovely afternoon with a local artist.
Great artist was very professional and helpful and the location was perfect. Four sisters enjoying the lesson and activity loved it.
Guido was super!!! It was a lovely way to spend a few hours in the shady Villa Borghese park! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Guido was great! I enjoyed spending time with him and the others in the gardens, sketching and drawing.
Guido was so friendly and patient, I am a total art novice and he took his time to explain fundamentals as well as helped me do not just one but two watercolor drawings!
Guido does an excellent job of meeting people at their skill level and adjusting the lessons. In the afternoon he had worked with a 14 year old girl and in the evening he worked with me, a 58 year old man. In each case he adjusted accordingly. His instructions are clear and his attitude is encouraging. I was the only one to sign up and we worked for almost three hours moving through the park and practicing different skills. If you’re interested in learning how to sketch or have been curious about urban sketching, this is a good workshop to take. Guido will take you through important fundamentals that may seem unimportant but are actually essential to drawing well. One of my problems with sketching is I always want to make the image perfect and as a result often put off doing it. “We’re sketching, not drawing. It’s not about looking perfect. So sketch,” he said with a laugh. Guido’s approach helped me overcome that hesitation and I’ve been drawing in the notebook he provided every time a I have a minute sitting a cafe, waiting for a bus, or even more intentionally as I walk around. I sketched a bridge in the way to Traversere this morning. I have some experience with sketching but reviewing some fundamentals was helpful, and I have used some of Guido’s suggestions as I continued to sketch and paint over the last few days I enjoyed the class as well because it’s an opportunity to make a brief connection with some who has grown up in Rome. Additionally, I now have a notebook of my sketches in Rome that I will take home with me. And, I have an experience that I will remember after I have forgotten all the astounding buildings I’ve seen in Rome.
Great experience with Guido! We went to a few spots around the garden to sketch and paint. He gave new insights into art. I had fun.
Very pleasant for discovering the beautiful Villa Borghese park in a different way. Guido is very friendly and passionate about drawing. Thanks to him, his daughter, and his lovely little dog Olli for this beautiful moment.
If you’re looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the crowds, learn a little bit about sketching, and have the company of a local guide (who loves his dogs) - this is your activity! It was so relaxing. You don’t have to be experienced at drawing. Guido was kind and gave great tips. We are so happy we did this!❤️
Guido was very friendly and welcoming. He shared great drawing tips, and we had the chance to work with various drawing tools and techniques. The class was enjoyable and informative 🎨✨
