trail difficult so not for everyone. Also to be avoided in so much rain because slippery. Incredible scenery on trails of lava stones and tangled roots. count 2 hours for the 5 km route.
This was an amazing hike! Elizabeth and Leandro were lively and funny tour guides. As we had several children ages 10-15, they paid special attention to their safety and also entertaining them through out the moderately difficult hike. The scenery was straight out of a fairytale forest. The kids were able to do the hike and loved it. It is a must if you visit Terceira!
A beautiful part of Teceira that is not part of the coast line as amazing as that is. Medium to hard hike. Great guide.
Nice hike with a knowledgeable local guide. Mixed terrain with great views. We were lucky with the weather as it was cloudy but not wet. Our group was small which meant we could dictate the pace.
The Viator agents met our cruise ship at the dock. Very organized and efficient. Our driver and tour guide were excellent. Very knowledgeable about their island, its people and history. With that said, your description of the tour on your website was VERY MISLEADING. Though the trail we hiked was lovely, we saw very little of the countryside other than through our windows during the 1 hour van ride to and from, and we saw nothing of the coastline that was noted. As for the hike and trail, here’s where the HUGE PROBLEM lay; this trail was in no way “mild to moderate”. It was more equivalent to moderate to somewhat extreme. There were portions of the trail where we were literally rock climbing. Our group was comprised of older tourists, all of who are avid and experienced hikers. We (10 in total) all completed the trail and we’re all in agreement with this assessment.
