Itinerario
I nostri escursionisti vengono prelevati dai loro rispettivi hotel o appartamenti alle 7h15 del mattino presto e guidano per circa 30 minuti fino alla riserva naturale di Daan Viljoen per le escursioni. La riserva si trova a circa 24 chilometri fuori Windhoek, nelle panoramiche montagne di alta collina di Khomas Hockland. Questo è il sentiero escursionistico Rooibos 9 chilometri, più i 3 chilometri Wag - 'n-Bietjie Trail, per un totale di 12 chilometri mezza giornata di escursioni. Qui i viaggiatori possono vedere la fauna selvatica diversificata e godere di una varietà di attività all'aria aperta - a causa dell'assenza di grandi predatori, che lo rende sicuro per l'esplorazione a piedi.
Mentre in Trekking, i nostri viaggiatori possono anche godere di visualizzare alcune attrazioni chiave e attività come; 1. Osservazione della fauna selvatica - giraffa, gnu blu, orice (gemsbok), kudu, zebra di montagna, springbok e altre antilopi. 2. Birds Watching - il parco ospita oltre 200 specie di uccelli, tra cui endemici come il beccocorno di Monteiro, il pappagallo di Ruppell, altri uccelli e un'area di diga con fonte d'acqua permanente che attira abbondanti uccelli. 3. Sentiero escursionistico - i viaggiatori possono godere di un'esplorazione guidata su sentieri ben segnalati, imparando di più sulle piante della riserva tra cui la geologia della Riserva Naturale. Il sentiero termina alle 12h30 circa del pomeriggio. Dopo l'escursione, torneremo in ufficio a piedi e avremo accesso alla stanza di riposo per rinfrescarci prima di tornare indietro e arrivare a Windhoek circa 13h30. Fine del tour. It was a great walk. We saw lots of wildlife, including giraffes. Be prepared for stony trails and some ups and downs. Petrus was the guide and he know an amazing amount about the animals, birds and trees. What I appreciated most was that Petrus was sensitive to my needs. We had planned a 9km walk, but I began to tire early and Petrus noticed this and suggested a short cut back that cut 4kms out of the walk, but still contained lots of nice views and interesting things. It was a great day. The park did not disappoint and we had a lot of fun viewing and talking about the animals.

Be prepared for clambering over rocks and some steepish inclines. It’s a great hike with good views and wildlife. Our guide was very knowledgable and took into consideration our pace. Make sure you wear long pants and hiking boots recommended.

This hike in Daan Viljoen with Petrus as my guide was incredible! I was picked up on time and we drove to the reserve, then set off on foot. We were lucky to see so many animals: giraffes near the road, warthogs, wildebeest, impalas, hyrax, and an ostrich, as well as multiple birds. Petrus shared lots of interesting information about different plants and animals, and complemented them with explanations for how they may be used in rural settings and anecdotes from his own experience growing up in a village setting. We took a break in a peaceful creek-like setting, and Petrus provided water, juices, snacks and fruit. Overall it was an amazing experience!
