Make sure you check the change! (1 male attendant speaking Japanese)

If you have time, I'd love to. Feeding time (with break) 8:00~10:00 15:00~16:00 We arrived around 14:10, Ticket purchase, 14:30 up the hill in a buggy To the feeding point. 14:30 - 14:45 Staff explanations are available From 14:45 to 15:15, our staff is available He summons an orangutan. Then slowly at first, Two females with one baby each. One child orangutan. 1 male orangutan. There were a total of six. I saw it. In the morning, he said he was lucky because there were three. The staff will talk to you. The staff were making mouth-churning gestures to the foreigners who were quiet. The basic thing is to wait quietly. ! Watch out for the change. How to buy tickets and in the center I visited without knowing that there was a vehicle called a buggy. 1.Reception ・QR reading on desk ・Enter required information ・After inputting, move the QR screen to the charge window 2.Fee window ・10 MYR per foreign adult ・5 MYR per foreign child · 15 MYR per person for a round trip buggy for foreigners What do you do with a buggy when you pay? and I was asked by a male attendant who spoke Japanese (numbers, katakato). They told me I'd walk 20 minutes, I paid the bill including the buggy for two people without asking how much. A man outside the fare window says 50 in Japanese I said so I'll pay you MYR 50 as it is, I received 1 MYR of change. Later, a man outside the fare counter (the one with Japanese katakato) and a man at the fare counter grinned and felt that I had a nasty laugh, so I thought I was going to look into the price and found out that I was 4 MYR short of change. Admission fee for one adult. 15 MYR. 5MYR for one child admission fee 2 x 15 MYR round trip per person Total MYR 45 Payment 50 MYR Change 1 MYR 4MYR short. It was very disappointing because the contents of the animal center were great. Because of my carelessness, If you are Japanese, please be especially careful.

Very nice experience! Recommended!

The Sarawak Cultural Village is absolutely worth to visit! Very nice and interesting place! Also the Semenggoh Orangutan Center, while you should be aware of the timing of when they feed the Orangutan to try to see them.

A tour that captures the beauty of both the cultural and natural heritage of Sarawak

I was worried that Sarawak Cultural Village would be a place that was too contrived or exploitative...but was wowed as it really showcased Sarawak's diverse cultures beautifully, culminating in a scintillating hour-long performance. Lunch wasn't included but the food at the in-house restaurant was really good and at very fair prices. While I have seen many orangutans in zoos, seeing them in the wild at Semenggoh in the afternoon was a completely different experience. It was fascinating (and heartbreaking at times) hearing the stories of the different orangutans. Our guide Dorrita was knowledgeable about both places. Being from the Iban tribe herself, she was particularly well-placed to shed light on many aspects of tribal culture.

Cultural adventure

The cultural village experience was so interesting and exciting. Beautiful local lunch on top of that. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any orangutans, our chauffeur and guide Tom was fantastic

Dear Sir / Madam Good Day Thank you for a good review of Sarawak Cultural Village , our little presentation of Borneo's rich culture. We are glad you enjoyed the lunch , pls try Bidayuh ethnic meal bamboo chicken. Sorry for dissapointing your visit in Semenggoh. The Orangutans do appear during feeding time. The center is dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing the Orangutans to their natural environment and adapt to the forest naturally. I hope you had a change to adopt a Orangutan on this trip. Pls try on-line if you haven't already. We look forward to serve you again on your next visit. Thank you MH Team

Greedy Company so we missed out seeing the Show at the Cultural Village

Orangutang experience was good although a 7.30am pick up instead of 8am. Due to Company being greedy we then dropped guests back to the hotel in Kuching which meant we got to the cultural centre at 11.40am and missed the 11.30am show. Had lunch and wandered round the Cultural village which was quite good but guide was trying to make it all last and go slow because the next show was 4pm and that would mean not back into Kuching until nearly 6pm. Given we'd left the hotel at 7.30am that morning we had to miss the show.

Dear Ms Sarah Rogers , Good Day The approximately time to visit the Ethnic Houses is 2hrs 30mnts. Comprising 7 Ethnic Houses. Thereafter proceed to Cultural dance Performance. Semenggoh Orangutan Center was conducted in the morning as the afternoon heat wave does not attract much Orangutans. Sarawak Cultural Village, Cultural Dance session starts at either 11:30am or 4:00pm. Due to the proximity / distance of nearly 1hr 45mnts from Semenggoh Center , the next best option was after morning Orangutan feeding session. Tour Guide Mr Tom advice us as you have a health condition that prevented you from climbing the steps to visit the Ethnic Houses at Sarawak Cultural Village. Of the total 7 Ethnic Houses , you only manage to visit 2 Houses which had accessible steps. we are truly sorry you missed out on the best of Sarawak Cultural Ethnic Experience as the other 5 Houses had much to offer to visitors about the cultural ethnicity of Sarawak. As you finish the touring of the Village in 1 hours , you had a balance of 1-2 hours before the Cultural Dance. you opted to leave early and return to hotel. The Cultural dance performance is a Musical & Dance Heritage. Although now all are performed as an art form for entertainment instead of its once-believed ritualistic beliefs, these dances are still hugely important in the preservation of some of Malaysia's declining cultural identities.

An Unforgettable Experience

This was a wonderful day. I had the best guide ever. My guide was Antoni. He was very knowledgeable and gave me tips on how to take pics of the Orangutans. he made sure I was in the right place to see them when they come to feed. I got great pictures. When we went to the Culture Center, he explained all of the exhibits in each of the houses, and told me about his childhood experiences using many of the tools that we saw. I highly recommend this experience and I hope you get Antoni as your guide. Also he is a great picture taker!!

Dear Queen Kavanaugh Good Day We are truly delighted to have taken you on this tour. Please share some of your pictures on social media, so you may help us to create awareness of the beautiful works that takes place in Semenggoh Center. As it was started as a Rehabilitation Center for Orangutans , orphanage , abandons , relocated to a save place and taught to have minimum interactions with human species resulting too a natural instinct to return to the tree's canopies. But they still return for the fruit buffet which helps park rangers to record their progress as well as visitor have a delightful time admiring the orangutans.

Good fun

Great day out. The village was lovely and our guide very friendly and informative. We were lucky to see an orangutan at feeding time - apparently this is always the case and we hadn’t appreciated we were only at the park fir feeding time.

Dear Ms Alexander, Thank you foremost for accommodating to change the tour date as the Cultural Village is close on Monday. The Semenggoh Orangutan Center was formerly called Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. We provide rehabilitation programs for orphanage Orangutans and rescued. Since the 1980's many Orangutans has successfully graduated from the center , they independently live in the a joining Forest Reserve. Some even venture further. The success of this center attributes to your kind contribution by visiting us at the center. Thank you and please come again. Sincerely, Edwin

Great way to get a glimpse of Sarawak Culture

We had a lovely time on this tour - great way to get a brief understanding of the Sarawak Native Culture. Mr kent, our guide, was very informative and attentive. He explained us the tribal rituals and characteristics well. Dont miss the performance at the end. We were also lucky to see a mother Chimpanzee and her two babies at the Orangutan center but not much to explore there otherwise

Hi Meghn, Greetings from Magunatip Holidays We are glad you enjoyed the tour and more importantly guide's commentary were very informative. It's a unique place where you may experience how each individual tribes lives. Not to mention the Cultural Dance , a performance characteristic dance movement unique to individual communities. I am happy because you have visited the Semenggoh Orangutan Center , through the years visitor's patronize Semeggoh Center which started as a Rehabilitation Center for Orangutans. The program is a success because of your visit. We have reintroduce the Orangutans to their natural habitats to the surrounding Forest Reserve but occasionally they do return for a fruit buffet during feeding time. Sometimes few returns especially during Forest Fruit seasons. Thanks to you this Orangutans still have a place to shelter under the supervision of Park Rangers. Please encourage everyone to visit Semenggoh Orangutan Center. Thanks & Regards, Edwin
