Damon planned the perfect day for our family. We only had limited time in Guangzhou, so Damon organised a seamless action packed day. Our tours were timed perfectly to avoid crowds. Our zoo experience could not of been better. He packed all the best shows and interactive activities seamlessly. I wouldn’t highly recommend booking with Damon and his wife if you are planning a visit to Guangzhou. A+++ Thanks again Damon!!

Damon was our guide for the day. We had a very informative tour of the zoo - Damon was very knowledgeable and knew his way around the zoo. We also opted for the Circus, admittedly I was a bit sceptical, it was probably the best thing we did on our trip. Highly recommend Damon and his tours. Thanks Damon for a great day!

Business trip with a spare day to see the sights. Decided to do the safari, zoo and circus with Damon. Good communicator. Helpful and knowledgeable. And accommodating. Damon also provided great insights into Guangzhou and China in general. Need about 4-6 hours at safari & zoo. The big surprise was the circus. Next level sensory experience. Great for all ages. Super acts and very entertaining! Highly recommend! Only knock is the food at all 3 experiences. Passable but not great. Damon understands his role and does an excellent job👍👊

We had the most amazing day touring with Damon. We went to visit both the Safari park and the zoo side. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and he speaks amazing English. I highly recommend him!

Our family of five took this tour with Damon of Guangzhou Local Tours. This seems like something you can do on your own but being with a guide makes the trip much less exhausting. It took a lot of walking in the zoo and Damon helped guiding the route to save time and distance. He also adjusted the activities to meet our interests and energy. With Guangzhou's heat and humidity and kilometers of walking we got exhausted within a few hours but there were places to sit down and relax while viewing the parade. Another advantage of taking this tour was that we could go through the safari section on our own vehicle, not having to queue for the safari tram. Still, the highlight of the day had to be the circus. The spectacular shows were alternated with fun comedic acts. The setting, lighting, music were top-notch. The performers are very talented. Despite being called "circus", the shows were performed by humans and the animals were there just to run around and add some extravaganza.

I had an amazing experience visiting Chimelong Safari Park. The park is incredible and very well organized, with so many beautiful animals to see. My guide Damon was fantastic — very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. He made the tour smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience!

I took this private tour as a solo female traveller with my 11-year-old child, and it was easily one of the best decisions of our Guangzhou trip. I highly recommend it. Like many earlier reviewers have said, having a guide truly saves a tremendous amount of time and makes the entire day far more efficient and enjoyable. A huge thank you to our guide, Damon, who was exceptional from start to finish. He arranged a private car for the safari portion, which I cannot recommend enough. It was so much better than taking the park tram — no queues, no rushing, and total freedom to go at our own pace. We could stop for as long as we liked at each enclosure to admire the animals, enjoy the scenery, and take photos. (The tram never stops, so this was a huge advantage.) After the car safari, we continued through the park on foot, and Damon guided us seamlessly through almost every major exhibit. No need to fiddle with maps, apps, or navigate the huge park on our own. Thanks to his deep familiarity with the layout, he managed to fit in six animal shows, including the float parade, while still covering nearly all the exhibits — all in under five hours and without needing an insanely early start to the day. This simply wouldn’t have been possible without him. We ended with the Chimelong Circus, which Damon pre-booked for us in advance (again, zero hassle). The show was absolutely spectacular — world-class acts that, in my opinion, were even more entertaining than Cirque du Soleil. (Do note that the performance uses animals, so if that goes against your personal principles, you may wish to skip it.) Overall, it was a fabulous, stress-free, and incredibly memorable day for both me and my child. If you’re travelling with kids — or if you simply want to maximise your time at Chimelong Safari Park — I cannot recommend booking this tour with Damon enough. He made everything smooth, efficient, and thoroughly enjoyable.
