La passeggiata ci porta attraverso piccole stradine con case vecchio stile, attraverso negozi di seta, negozi che vendono musica e memorablia religiosi, auditorium "kutcheri", ecc. Visita il Tempio Kapaleeshwara, la Chiesa di Santhome, e percorri le viuzze di Mylapore durante questo tour di 3 ore. Il tour è principalmente a piedi con un breve tratto in un auto-risciò (tuk-tuk locale) che sono organizzati e inclusi nel tour e si concluderà con rinfreschi dell'India del sud.

Mylapore è - e in un certo senso è sempre stato - l'epicentro religioso e culturale del popolo Tamil. Il villaggio di Mylapore risale a Chennai. Un antico tempio costiero dedicato a Shiva sorgeva in questo antico porto fiorente, fino a quando i portoghesi arrivarono nella metà del sedicesimo secolo. Hanno distrutto il tempio, creato una colonia portoghese sulla riva e hanno spinto Mylapore a riva, dove si trova ancora oggi. Il tempio di Shiva fu ricostruito 300 anni fa, ed è chiamato il Tempio Kapaleeswara. È un bell'esempio del puro stile dravidico, con gopuram e mandapam, ed è l'epicentro attorno al quale è costruita l'area di Mylapore. La chiesa di San Thome, conosciuta anche come Basilica Cattedrale di San Tommaso e Santuario Internazionale di San Tommaso è una basilica minore cattolica romana a Santhome, nella città di Chennai, in India. Alla fine del tour, ci fermiamo al famoso Saravana Bhavan per snack e caffè.
