Iniziamo questo tour molto vario nel pittoresco villaggio di De Rijp. Qui, iniziamo la giornata con una piacevole passeggiata mattutina lungo un canale con belle case tradizionali in legno. Gli edifici monumentali di questo villaggio sono tutti del Secolo d'Oro Olandese, compreso l'imponente municipio. Sembra di essere in un museo a cielo aperto, ma è reale!
È un breve tragitto in auto da DE RIJP a SCHERMERHORN, perché cos’è una visita nei Paesi Bassi senza vedere gli iconici mulini a vento che hanno trasformato l’acqua in terra? Ti aspetta una delizia, perché SCHERMERHORN è la casa di tre dei più antichi e più belli mulini a vento tradizionali Olandesi. Un mulino è ora un museo e si può esplorare da cima a fondo.
Continueremo il tour guidando verso est. Dopo aver attraversato la Houtribdijk, una diga lunga 26 chilometri, avrete tempo libero per il pranzo al Batavia Stad.
Ci fermiamo anche nell'incantevole villaggio di pescatori di Urk, dove passeggerai lungo il faro e la vecchia chiesa in riva al mare. Questo luogo era un'isola prima della creazione della provincia artificiale del Flevoland.
Ultimo ma non meno importante, facciamo una visita a Elburg. Il quattrocentesco cancello d'ingresso conduce in un borgo medievale dove il tempo si è fermato. L'elenco dei monumenti che troverai qui è impressionante e rimangono anche parti delle mura della città vecchia.

Simon was awesome! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He shared so much good information and did it in a fun manner. We would 100% recommend this excursion. We learned so much about the Netherlands, its history and its people and ways of life. Fascinating!
Our tour guide Adrian was fantastic. Really enjoyed learning a lot about the Netherlands reclaiming land from the sea, and all of the different cultures that surround this circular route that we took. Highly recommend.

The Discover the Netherlands tour guided by Simon was excellent and provided more than we expected. We wanted to see the impressive Dutch water management construction projects and the historic towns outside of Amsterdam and were very happy with the results. Simon is an experienced and professional guide who provided a lot of information, happily answered any question, and also knew when to talk with his customers and when to let the experience of seeing impressive water management projects and walking around historic towns sink in. We would happily go on other tours led by Simon.

It’s a relaxing experience, not so much walking but you’ll see the best views and learn the history of each places we visit. Simon is an awesome guide, he didn’t pressure us with the time.

The entire tour from beginning to end was wonderful and informative. Our tour guide, Simon was professional and super nice, the historical info he gave in each providence/town made history come alive. We had fun and had a wonderful lunch.
