The guide May liked it a lot and told me a lot about the people, but for me the most interesting thing was, it was plants in the jungle it knew a lot about their medicinal properties it was educational, there was enough time to stop. The route through the villages is not difficult, she prepared a lot of food, and I packed my ban mi, it was very delicious and atmospheric. Mei's very pleasant, she also told me about rice in bamboo and said it was delicious, I don't like Vietnamese food very much, but it really is delicious, she helped buy it and it was straight to the nannies. We have visited all the stops reported. I was alone and May was helping me take my picture. You don't need slip shoes or wet shoes. I had sneaker covers, but I was lazy about taking them.
We had an excellent experience with Ms Mo as our tour guide. She was very lively and kind. We got to both learn a lot from her about Vietnamese culture and share things about our own. The tour itself is brilliant and several points in the tour are among the most beautiful sites we have seen so far during our visit to Vietnam. The food prepared for us by Ms Mo was, likewise, exceptional and substantial. The array of fruits provided was a very pleasant addition in the warm weather, although I would expect that to be based on the season you're visitting in. Some of our 4 member group struggle with their energy and were not sure they would be capable of doing the more difficult part of the hike. Fortunately the option to take the car instead (although this does apparently come at an additional fee) is available and can be decided just before you embark on the longest part of the hike. This allowed those who may have struggled to do the several hour hike to decide at the time after having completed all the other activities, rather than having to assume it is something that they would be unable to partake in before the tour had started. During the final part of the trek we were offered several options, the most important of which we feel was the easy (road) or hard (farm) route for the longest part of the hike. We chose the harder, more rewarding, route which was exceptionally beautiful. However, I would advise that you have a good pair of shoes and ideally be fairly fit/have some hiking experience for this route as it does involve some very steep elevation changes as well as hopping over some streams (at least if you've got short legs like us!). Overall an excellent hiking tour and I would highly recommend it for one of your days in Sapa!
Cold weather, nice village & friendly your guide
Absolutely magical tour, our tour guide Sho was brilliant, highly recommend.
Value for money tour. The operator tailored our tour to the places we wanted to visit. And the tour guide was outstanding.
Authentic walking tour to visit Heaven’s Gate, Lonely Tree, Love Waterfall (an easy 35min walk one way - very doable for kids), then on to Silver Falls, lunch break in a very local village, followed by a lovely walk through the village, seeing the local life, houses, farms, rice paddy fields. The guide was knowledgeable, spoke decent English, and was very informative about the local culture. Highly recommended!
Our trip was great. The trek while tiresome but was well worth it. The tour guide was fantastic. If you want to get a taste of Sapa from the perspective of a local and not just the tourist photo ops this trip is for you. The photo ops are still great on this trek too btw.
It was our last day in Sapa and we were really grateful that the staff at Sapa Original Trek let us leave our luggage with them whilst we went trekking. We had a wonderful day visiting the Silver Waterfall, Love Waterfall, Lonely Tree Viewpoint and San Sa Ho village which unlike other villages we’d been to was not at all touristy. Our guide, Song made the day very special and memorable for us, giving us a real insight into life in the villages around Sapa and sharing some personal stories. Her English was excellent, she was friendly and knowledgeable and she made a delicious picnic for us all whilst we watched a father and son move their buffalo to a new field. When we returned to the Sapa Original Trek office, we were offered use of a shower and a room to rest for an hour whilst staff there organised a very reasonably priced minibus to get us back to Lao Cai Railway Station which saved us taking the local bus as we’d intended. We couldn’t fault this organisation or its staff who were all so kind and helpful. A memorable experience.
We had a terrific experience with Sapa Original Trek! We were a group of 5 - 4 adults (2 couples + a 12 year old). Everything from the itinerary to the communication to the transportation was seamless and well executed. Mr Tinh arranged a beautiful van to transport us from our hotel in Hanoi out to Sapa and back again when our adventure concluded. And his tour guide, Mr Sinh, led us on a perfect day's exploration of both scenic stops and magical local trails. Some of our group are vegans and Mr Tinh arranged a perfect lunch for them, not always the case when we've booked adventures. All in all, it was a WONDERFUL day! 10/10 highly recommend his company to anyone who's traveling to Sapa!!
Wonderful experience, May was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and intuitive to my needs. I would do this trek again. Lots of unforgettable sights, and education on the hmoung people. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
